Pixar Place Superthread

I agree with DizMe, they need to do better than that. Nine days for such a drastic change is not acceptable. I would also nicely push for GCH, as you are losing the more direct Pixar Place to DCA entrance being at DLH (sure, it's still close, but not the same).

ETA: I agree with your other concerns too...DLH hasn't been updated in quite some time and slides are down. GCH is a newer refresh and won't have slides down.
If the CM who answers doesn't know anything, ask nicely to be transferred to a senior lead (or whatever the upper level is for customer service). The entry-level CM that answers your call will have to go to the higher-ups anyway, so you may as well see if you can talk to them yourself. Calmly explain your circumstances, your disappointment with the situation and the way it has been handled (since your trip is almost here). Tell them that in the circumstances you feel that X type room at GCH is a fair compensation.

What I have done in the few cases when I've had a situation like this is to start out pleasant and positive. You can suggest what you think is fair, saying something like how you appreciate that they are trying to make sure the visit is magical. If they come back with the GCH deal, get their name, thank them very much and give them good feedback. Maybe it'll help the next person down the line. If that doesn't work, then you'll have to decide how far you want to go with it, but hopefully the nice approach works.

Hi. I'm interested in staying on the club level in August when we go. Is that on the third floor? the rooms also on the same floor?

Thanks.

Just back from a quick one night stay at Pixar and my cousin and I loved it so much! The theming is amazing, the staff was great, our room and view were awesome! We had a park view and it was just awesome! The special entrance into DCA was great as well! We ate breakfast at Great Maple and it was delish! I highly recommend this place!!

I'm hoping to get the scoop on meeting Bing Bong from someone who has stayed at PP lately. I know he started doing meet and greets in the pool area but I haven't been able to get any other details (such as how often he meets, or how hard it is to get the details about meeting him when you get there). It might be worth the money to stay at the hotel if I can grab a rare character while I'm there!
Just catching up so this has probably been mentioned already but we checked in on a Wednesday morning around 10am and he was in the lobby. We saw him the following day as well.

A couple of recent reviews are mentioning noise given all the connecting rooms. When I stayed solo in November, I could hear a lot but the family in the connecting room had kids - so tv was turned off reasonable time and we both got up at same time.

A friend is meeting me there this trip, am just wondering about noise. I can get a standard room at DLH for $38 more a night (including taxes), just under $160 total for our 4 night stay. In the times I have stayed at DLH, didn’t really hear neighbors. I’m thrifty normally so was good with Pixar Place but now questioning if DLH would be the better choice?
I can report that the noise from our connecting room was TERRIBLE! We loved the hotel- have stayed in so many Disney resorts on both coasts and this room may have been our favorite. But the noise from next-door was sometimes unbearable.:(

Oh no - I am so sorry for your experience! Thanks for reporting back!

Unfortunately, my friend voted for Pixar Place in the end, loving the room videos on youtube. I felt sick when I cancelled the DLH reservation, not a great sign. 😅. We are heading there just over a week, will hope for the best!

They did a wonderful job with the redo. And maybe you will get lucky with quiet neighbors!

We have stayed at this hotel quite a bit when it was paradise pier and we very rarely got a room with a connecting door. Maybe you can call ahead and politely ask for a room without a connecting door? I would ask again at check in as well. Have a great trip!!

Thank you both! And great idea Crystal - just called & they added the request to our reservation!

Any Fall savings for Disneyland Hotels coming up? I see Summer savings only now. Looking at Pixar Place!!! TIA.
They've only released spring savings so far, they haven't even released summer 2024 savings. Last year it was near the end of June before they released savings for summer 2023. Don't know what date they released fall 2023.

Unless something happened in the last year that I don’t know about, GCH rooms haven’t received an update since 2017 or 2018. DLH received a refresh during the pandemic closure.

@Tiggerish DLH did receive a room refresh less than 3 years ago but, if you haven’t already, I would call back and ask for a Downtown Disney view if you are okay with staying at DLH. It is further away than GCH but I found the GCH rooms to be disappointingly tired and worn when I stayed there last spring. With the water slides closed, they might be taking people to GCH or Pixar Pier by golf cart to use their pools.

Whoops, you're right, DLH did have a refresh (I think they call it soft goods refurb?) during the pandemic. Last year we stayed at GCH and it still seemed in great shape, but maybe we were lucky in our room assignment.

We were at the parks last week and I was able to get the schedules for Bing Bong and Joe in case others are looking for the information. These are (of course) subject to change, but are the current times. Bing Bong meets on the lawn by the pool deck in the afternoons unless it is rainy or windy. Otherwise, he is in the lobby. Joe meets at the piano in the lobby (and plays!) You don't need to be a guest of the hotel to meet the characters.

Big Bong
8:55-9:20am
10:05-10:30am
11:15-11:40am
12:40-1:05pm (lawn)
1:50-2:15pm (lawn)
3:00-3:25pm

Joe
3:30-4:00pm
4:30-5:00pm
5:30-6:00pm
7:00-7:30pm
8:00-8:30pm
9:00-9:30pm
