Premium Dining Plan HELP!!!

Does anyone know what the premium dining plan includes?? :confused3 I can't find anything about it except that all dinner shows TS CS and Signature restaurants are included except V&A. I was just wondering what the meals include. We found out it was gonna be cheaper for us to get the nicer package with all the bells and whistles and stay at POFQ then it was to stay at the Poly with the regular dining plan. Any info on the Premium package dining would be a GREAT help. :teeth:

We get this on every trip we go on. If anyone has questions, let me know.

It includes...well, basically everything and anything...dinner shows, tours, recreation, meals (1 app, 1 entree, 1 beverage, and 1 dessert a person), and more.

Specific questions?

Yes i would like to know this as well. i called disney and the CM did not have a clue. He read the info that is presented on the site which is threee meals a day. i asked if these were t/s meals and what included, did not know. How do you know that all rest. but V&A are included? The CM that i talked to said it was the same rest. as the other plan, and that signature rest would be two credits, if this is the case then is it worth it to get this plan. Help anyone that knows so I can see what plan to get.

This plan is a hidden secret of WDW. Only recently more people are beginning to find out about it and use it.

There is no voucher/coupon/credits to count. You eat whereever you want (except V & A's) and whatever you want three times a day. You eat at a 5-star restaurant for every meal if ya want.

Not true. These are included if you want to use them.

He didn't because you can't. It's 101.99 (and I think about 90 bucks a day for kids), and that includes everything. For those that think this is a great meal plan, it isn't. Even with eating three TS meals a day, you'd be hard pressed to come close to breaking even. So unless you are planning on doing some of the "extras" (golf, fishing, Cirque, horseback riding, etc..), then getting the premium plan is a waste of money.

So if you are planning on doing a lot of recreation and you would like to eat at a lot of nice restaurants, it can be a worthwhile plan. But it is definitely not a good meal plan.. it's more like a vacation plan.

Hi Pedro...we meet again! lol!

We not only broke even but above when we used it and will use it again. Love the plan, love the flexbility, and love all the it includes...not just meals. We probably were above because we did not get it solely for meals and did other activities.

So, unless you have used it and calculated it correctly, don't knock it! :thumbsup2

What I've seen, there aren't any snacks included. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is included, but no snacks. That alone is plenty of food! Could you show me where you've found documentation that snacks are included?

Thanks!

I don't need the documentation. lol I've done it myself on the plan. We don't usually go to breakfast so we bought snacks and things using that allottment. :)

Right if you give up a meal then you can use the meal credit towards snacks but money wise that dosen't make sense. As I said before there is no snacks included with this plan unlike the Platinum which does include a snack and to me is even better than the Premium since you get room service, and Victoria and Alberts if you are so inclined. Along with that you get a gift and ours was a beautiful clock two years ago when we went along with a very nice Lithograph.

With the plan, there's so much food that we see no need to get breakfast in the mornings plus eat out for lunch and dinner. We get snacks if need be using those extra credits. I would not want a plan that gives you that plus the three meals a day...it is already a lot. Besides, we choose this plan for the other options along with the meals. The food is not our major reason for it. :)

As for making our money on it, etc., we always do because of the other activities we take advantage of. We have never lost on it and won't.

That's exactly what I meant, nikki. As a vacation package it is great if you are doing all the activities (cirque, fishing, tours, golf, etc..), but it is not so great if you are just using it for meals. Yes, it has been calculated and you will end up spending a significant amount less if you just paid out of pocket for every meal or used the regular dining plan, if you are not going to use the extras. That's all I meant.

i have a few questions about this plan 'cause we have considered it (and were going to book it for our aug/sept '05 trip 'til free dining came along! LOL!)

can you get more than three meals per day? (my ds9 does not eat a lot at a sit-down meal, ever, and would prefer we grab a burger or hot dog along our way for him, but that would be a "fourth" meal, no?)

can you carry over meals (if we ate only 2 meals on tuesday, could we have four meals on wednesday? again, not because we could remotely consume that much food... but because, well, see above and just curious)

does it include the cruises (i.e. wishes premium cruise)?

kids' fishing trip (from the yacht/beach club) or just fishing excursions? cane pole rental at POR?

We are going on our first trip in June. We decided to do the Premium package for several reasons even if we end up not coming out ahead or breaking even.

1. My husband is very cheap so anywhere we would want to go eat he would veto if he had to worry about the price. He thinks expensive is over $25.00 for a family of 5. So with looking at the menus even of the counter service I can't see us even eating even a quick breakfast for under $25.00 which is his definition of too expensive. We may not eat all the food but we do enjoy a good meal and he is definitely the table service kind of guy if for no other reason than to just get the kids to sit down and rest a bit.

2. He gets even worse if he feels he is being nickel and dimed to death, so anytime he would have to remove his wallet from his pocket he would complain.

3. He views it as making the WDW experience more like the all inclusive resorts we have visited which he LOVED because no one asked him for money. This way I have already paid for most of the vacation and he doesn't have to think about what it is costing him because he won't have to pay for everything. He will however keep track of what each meal would have been had he been paying for it.

4. We wouldn't even consider La Nouba, renting the boats at the resort, or parasailing if we didn't have the plan. Nor would be do the water parks. We have all wanted to do these type things including him but whenever he sees the cost he decides it couldn't possibly be worth it. Thus we tend never to do anything.

Just another perspective. My husband knows these things about himself and he was the first one to suggest seeing if there was a way to make it seem to him that it is an all inclusive resort. He understands buying souvenirs, snacks and drinks so that won't be a problem.

yes, meals can be carried over. for example, in august last year, dh and i had the premium plan. got tired of eating so much. so skipped a couple of meals (breakfast one day, lunch another). had the credits left over, and actually used them to pay for a meal at mgm brown derby for my father and step mom our last night there.

no, it doesn't include the wishes cruise (though i believe the new platinum plan does, along with a spa treatment and a bunch of other extras).

not sure about the kids' fishing trip. i know it includes unlimited access to all the kids clubs at the resorts, but don't know about things like the kids' fishing trip or pirate cruise.

hd and i loved this package. we know we didn't break even as far as the recreation goes. we did cirque and one tour, but that is about it. but on the food side of things, boy, was that great! we generally eat at table service type places, and order aps, entree and desserts. don't always finish what we order (we are by no means members of the clean plate club) but order what we want. we loved being able to do the same on vacation without having to worry about figuring out how many credits of which type we had left. it also gave us a chance to try new foods that we otherwise would not have eaten. our california grill bill was almost $200 alone, and that was before the adult beverages were added on. the package was worth it to us just for that meal!

We're doing this in April & can't wait. We've made ADRs for breakfast & dinner every day. Most of us don't eat lunch - just a snack but we're taking advantage of Cirque, tours.etc. We loved the old Silver plan & didn't want the standard dining plan because it only allowed 1 ts, 1 cs & 1 snack per day. The premium plan does include appetizer, main course & dessert - adult beverages are not included. :thumbsup2

The Basic Dining includes the exact same thing for (T) service. :thumbsup2

Hello. I am going to WDW in DEC 2007. WE are starting off with a 4 day cruise and then staying in WDW for a week afterwards. my whole family is going- there will be 16 of us total- 9 adults and 7 kids. The kids ages range from 10 down to 1. DO you think it pays for us to do the premium plan? WE do like to eat, and i think we would do cirque de soliel, and the horseback riding- some would do- and some would do the golf. We are looking to get the most bang for our buck because this will be a once in a lifetime vacation- a family reunion of sorts over christmas. however we do not want to overpay becasue we are putting alot out for this vacation- and know we will spend alot once we get there. We are just trying to pre pay for as much as possible so that we have an estimate of wha t the trip will truly cost us. WE do not wantto waste money though on unneccessary things . Please help!!

although i have no expertise from which i speak, here are my thoughts mambrose... your family will likely be fine w/the regular disney dining plan... here's why... after four days of non-stop eating on the cruise, you'll be ready to scale back a bit and may be just as happy w/a counter service meal as opposed to three table service meals per day... you will have likely done a lot of recreational activities on the cruise/at ports of call, will have seen a show or two, etc, so you might be better served concentrating on the parks, which offer a lot of great options and a family could easily spend a week and not even scrape the surface!

my advice would be to talk to a disney specialist and price it out ala carte (include extra meals out of pocket to the equation if you think you will want them) and w/the plan and see which way is more in your favor... ...
