Rental ECV's big enough for adult + child???

Wow, this is my first post. I'm heading to WDW Dec 3-11 and getting ready to rent an ECV from an off-site company. My dh and 2 kids have mobility problems and although they can walk, they can not walk very long or stand for long periods. We definately need the ECV for my dh and something for my 2 kids (ages 4 & 8).

I was planning on renting the ECV for dh and allowing the two kids to take turns riding with dh. I would then push the 2nd child in a small light weight stroller that is very easy to carry & move around. They are both small (45 lbs). DH is average 150 lbs. Is that doable? I was thinking that they could stand and lean just in front of dh. I've read that the off-site rentals are a bit smaller, could I still do it? I was leaning towards the off-site rental vs. the WDW park rental just so that we had the ECV around the resort. We are staying at the Poly.

Thanks in advance for your input!

No, that would not be allowed.
Riders are not allowed on ECVS. IT could lead to a very dangerous situation (such as the child falling off, the child accidentally hitting the drivers hand and making the ECV go in a different direction than intended).

You could rent a double stroller at the parks for the kids to share.

None of the off-sites allow more than one person on an ECV at a time. It is not only unsafe, but also a violation of the contract.

If you are using a Disney ECV and have two people riding you can have it impounded and even have you escorted from the Park.

All it takes is for a child to press against the throttle lever and this 150 pound vehicle plus rider(s) can crash into someone. It is dangerous.

Disney does have double strollers- with your children both being small this might work for them with your husband in the ECV. I agree with the above posters....too dangerous for a driver of any ECV to have a child on their lap.---Kathy

When I was a CM working at Epcot, I was walking around and a lady having a kid riding on her lap almost crashed into a family. I informed them they could not have someone's ride on the adult's lap and its in violation of the rental contract. I passed by and saw them 15 minutes later, still doing in. I got the ECV impounded, since they did not want to listen and didn't care for others.

Fortunately, its the only time I had to do that.
