Bonine does this to you, too? Man, that's disappointing. I had such a negative reaction to Dramamine that I was going to try Bonine next and see how that goes. I am not sure why my body changed how it handles motion sickness medicine (I took it during my honeymoon cruise in 2011 and was fine) but it's frustrating. Have you tried the seabands? Do they help?
Bonine might be worth a try for you. But I'd recommend trying it once someday when you don't have to do anything important in case it doesn't agree with you. Bonine is a little better for me than Dramamine, but still not great. I have some prescription meds I take, but they have their own negative side effects, so I try to avoid them whenever I can. I do use seabands! I think they help some, but sometimes I still get swimmy wearing them. But I like that there are no negative side effects. I also tried the patch behind the ear, but it makes me lightheaded and gives me dry mouth. I also try to do what I can to be preventative: get enough sleep (I get more motion sick if I'm tired) and have something in my stomach, but nothing too fatty/greasy/sugary. But those things are both a challenge on vacation! lol I also have a little essential oil type thing you put by your nose and breathe in the aroma and I find that helpful once I'm already queasy. I think it's called an aromatherapy inhaler. I also sometimes take ginger, but I don't think it's super effective for me.
