I bet that this is one of the things you look forward to the most. I doubt that any other WDW resort would give you such great photos. And there isn't anyone in the picture at that time of day.
You got really lucky with the timings for the floor refurbishment. You'll probably never see it like this again.
It really is one of my favorite parts of the trips. I love wondering around there first thing in the morning. I particularly enjoy getting the photos without anybody in them, and will wait to get them just right.
The floor was a surprise when we first walked in the lobby, that's for sure. It was really neat to see the process, and to see it without any rugs or furniture.
The geyser woke us up every morning at 7am, since our room was really close to it. I love looking at the sunrise and you need a few clouds to make it interesting. A cloudless sky is boring.
It is neat how every sunrise is a little different. The clouds do add a lot. I was downstairs for the first Geyser most every day, but got to where I tried taking the pictures from different locations.
The big coffee pot in the villas was my favorite part of having a full kitchen. I hate those little coffee makers in the regular resort rooms, although something is better than not having one at all.
I don't think we got coffee from Roaring Fork once this trip. I did pick up creamer and condiments down there, but the coffee they had was always from the room.
Were these an adequate replacement for the strawberry waffles that you used to love? It looked like Roaring Forks had brought back a few favorites, like the Wilderness salad. There must have been enough complaints that they had to bring some things back again.
The waffles are every bit as good as the old ones, and you get all the toppings by default instead of having to choose between the chocolate, banana, or strawberry. I prefer them with the toppings already applied, but getting them on the side would work well for a more picky eater.
The hat is adorable. Did he wearing it everyday? I see that he liked carrying his mug everywhere. Kids are funny about their little habits. It is rather endearing as long as it isn't inconvenient.
He wears the hat quite a bit. You never know if he's gonna be in a hat mood or not on a given day, but if he is that is a really cute one.
I rode BTMRR with my granddaughter when she was five years old. I kept thinking that she was going to fly out of the car since the bar never made it across her lap. But she had a great time flying around the seat, being flung from side to side.
Yeah, Allie had never ridden it, and was still pretty scared about it this trip, but Marshall wasn't too worried. ABout halfway through he realized he wasn't too sure, but said he loved it by the end.
It looks like Allie took very good care of Marshall. I'm sure that you appreciated having someone like her to ride the kiddie rides with Marshall. MK must not have been very crowded that morning. We went to MK on a Friday morning during our trip and it was really empty. Part of it was the approaching hurricane but mostly I think it was because there was a Halloween party that night. We rode Buzz three times in a row and it was a walk on every time.
Allie really is a good big sister. They sure can fight, but she does enjoy taking care of him. They didn't ride much on their own, but she enjoyed telling him what rides were going to be like.
I think you are on to something with the idea that having a Halloween party decreases crowds earlier in the day, since people without party tickets are elsewhere and the party people show up later. This quiet morning was on a party night, and we saw the same thing on the next party day.
We did that, too. It was really hot and sunny during our trip. We were glad it wasn't raining but a cloudy day would have been okay.
It is a win-win, cold air, a nice break, and a chance to shop. We love it. It's funny how we missed having more weather, but it's all good.
Thanks, we're glad you found us!
Love you guy's reports! I can't believe how non-toddler Marshall looks now! Wow what a year makes!
Can't wait for more updates!
Lynn
Aww, thank you! He is growing up fast, and looks more like a little boy every day. We're glad that you're here for this one, and we should have more updates soon.
Looks like a great first morning. What are your February dates? We will be there 2/6-2/11 for a cheer competition
Our February trip will be 2/6 through 2/14, so we'll be there the same time. We are really looking forward to the different weather.
Sounds like an awesome morning in MK!
Yes, it was a great start to the day, and the trip. We felt that we really got a lot out of our days where we started at MK this time.
