Sights from our RC cruise on the Allure of the Seas

It's been a while... but I just found this section. My wife & I took the Allure of the Seas for our honeymoon. It was a huge, but absolutely amazing ship and cruise! We had an outdoor view balcony room, which was also amazing.

We left out of Port Everglades / Fort Lauderdale. It was cool pulling out of port, we had an armed escort and all the locals were outside hootin' and holler'in when we pulled out of port. It was a cool sight to see everyone out there.

The only place we did shore excursions was Nassau Bahama's where we went on a glass bottom boat, which was pretty cool. We had other plans in St. Thomas and St. Maarten. The coolest thing about the boat tour was probably seeing out own ship from out on the water - the thing is massive.

To me, as a new cruiser, it was important to have the balcony room. There were a couple nights where I felt a little woozy indoors inside the ship, but felt absolutely fine once I could "right myself" with the world looking out our window/balcony and also getting fresh air outside was nice. We also got to see other ships and ocean going vessels that I would have never seen indoors - even other cruise ships

Hope you enjoy this mini-interactive write up. ;)

Thanks for your comments. We're going on the Allure. same itinerary next April and can't wait.
Good to hear you had a good excursion in Nassau. Trying to figure out what to do ourselves.
What did you do in St Thomas and St Maarten?
What did you think of the shows? Did you travel with kids? How was the food?

Our trip was an April trip, and it was beautiful.

St. Thomas we just explored - probably could have done something here, but we checked out the shops, the market, ect...

St. Maarten we went to Orient Beach and had some beach beverages, spent the day on the other side of the island, then went through the shops downtown before returning to the boat.

We don't have kids, and I hate to admit it, I can't remember the show we ended up seeing on the boat...haha

The food was pretty good - a little salty though. That was my only complaint about the food.

Thanks for the reply. Glad you had sucha good trip (and great to hear that April is a great time to go)

I have video of the glass bottom boat tour that ill hopefully get up before the weekend. I'll post it here for sure!

We went on the Allure last summer out of Ft. Lauderdale to the Caribbean and it was great!
