"Too Excited to Sleep"

So , I know that most of us keep on saying "are we there yet" when the time starts getting close for our vacations to be here. I am just curious as to what others do to get through the agony of the wait??? Also is there anything special you do while in the Parks to bring even more meaning to the magic, what is that one thing you HAVE to do while at Disney even if you do nothing else? Then how do you handle the agony of that moment when you realize you have to go home?


I am not a planner, I hate planning vacations with a Passion, but I love working up the excitement and turning my vacation into an even longer one through the ambiance we have at home prior to our trip.
I have one grown son and he and his gf love Disney almost as much as I do. Due to his job our visits are normally 5 days or less but the weekend before we leave I always have a mini Disney Party and we watch Disney movies all afternoon. Then throughout that week we text pictures and videos back and forth of those simple pleasures we find at Disney, or some sort of Disney trivia question or even "Are we there yet" It just adds to our excitement and by the time that night before gets here we are indeed too excited to sleep.

I will post some pics of what we normally have. Note in the Kungaloosh picture that is a cup I have from the AC as well as their toothpick holder

I would love to hear some of your other ideas..... We have a whole pile of Disney CDs from a friend we listen to as well..... The only way to get over the blahs of coming home is to plan another vacation of course...

Of course with words like excited, and sleep and porn this could be mistaken for something else by someone with a wicked sense of humor.... but then again....I don't offend easily............

that was toooooooooooooo funny!!!

Ok.. the fruit salsa and chips were a hit!!! all gone... need to go home and make some more... nice day at the Quarry... just baby sitting the door... thats about it...

So you mean that maybe that can of whipped cream has some ulterior purpose besides going on top of my sugar free jello?????(ya just gotta love that there are more than a few corrupt ppl on this board) lol


And to keep this on the Disney Theme...another great idea we thought of was to make jello shots but instead of making them in cups make them in the mickey silicone ice cube trays and serve on a plastic spoon with a Mickey head glued to the handle...............

Well after finding the video of the pole dancing bear, and the fact that bears do love to get into the picnic baskets I could just imagine that bear slathering the whip cream all over him as he pole danced................

My Oct trip is usually the busiest of all my trips... and am not complaining... and that is why I am very thankful for all the peeps I had come across this board... they make my trip much easier and more memorable!

Well, I guess this would really fall under a shameful disney secret but ssshhhhhh....guess what??? While I love my trips with my family, I am so very happy I found my dis friends so I can have ADULT fun as well. I look forward to every vacation I get to share with my friends........
