Hi folks. Staying at Old Key West. I see there is boat transportation to Disney Springs. How about walking? Looking at a map, it appears there may be some path, but not sure. We like to walk, so aside from the obvious walks in the parks, where else can we stretch our legs?

    Thanks!

There is a path you can walk. It's through the golf course. You can also walk to Saratoga Springs. It's a long walk though, at least 25 minutes.

A lot of folks walk 10 miles per day at WDW, if you do that and still feel the need to stretch your legs, you have my maximum respect! :worship:

The path from OKW to DS is not lit at night as far as I can remember.

That's correct. You can't walk the path when it is dark. You'll need to take the bus or boat instead. And you have to keep off the golf course and cart paths.

Definitely would not walk at night. Definitely could get turned around, not to mention the wildlife.

Considering how long the boat ride took, the walk would likely take a long time!

I watched a video on You Tube where this girl biked from Old Key West to Downtown Disney. And she was able to lock her bike up at Downtown Disney and go shopping. I am hoping to rent bikes one day to bike around SSR and possibly OKW, but I don't think you can park and lock your bike up anymore at Disney Springs.

And a few years ago a black bear was spotted there as well.

Uggghhh, I really was wanting to bike over to OKW to check it out while we are staying at SSR. But the bear spotting doesn't sound good.

We walk over to OKW from SSR on every trip we're at SSR. During the day! I wouldn't think of doing it at night. It's a really nice walk through the golf course--not on the course, but on the paths. Very enjoyable walk--and it'd be a great bike ride too, I'm sure.

The walk from OKW to DS is pretty long--you have to walk to SSR first, then over to DS. Nice walk, just be prepared. I'd say 25 minutes is about right.

Maybe they should swing through this area on the Kilimanjaro Safari? ;)

Isn't there a walkway that goes from OKW to West Side without having to go all the way over to SSR and The Marketplace walkway?

I think the Safari would be appropriate ANYWHERE on property-I saw a Bobcat in the Dalmatians Courtyard at All-Star Movies last month!:)
