Could you tell me, have got car hire with Dollar on a C4 car,(booked with Virgin) not exactly sure what size this is, can anybody tell me, as if it is too small i will need to be thinking about upgrading.

When we had a C4 it was a 4 door Neon. We usually drive a Ford Escort and found the Neon fine for 2 adults and 2 kids. I think the boot is quite small. (We had 2 suitcases and were fine but I've been told that that's all it will hold.)

Jules, if you look in the Virgin Brochure it will tell you how many suitcases each car holds and how many people it will take. I had heard that boots in US cars are quite small, so better safe than sorry. If you are anything like me, you will find you have SO much luggage and most of it belongs to your son!

And also remember if you are planning on shopping you will need even more room on the way back to the airport! ;)

As a further indication, I think Virgin classify their hire cars in the following sizes -
E for economy
C for compact
I for intermediate
F for full-size

So your C4 is a compact 4 door, but not the smallest available.
We had an I4 last year and had loads of room inside the car for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, but the boot was a bit of a squeeze for the luggage on the return trip to the airport!

This may help you too - a link to Dollar's website with the Specification for their cars: Dollar
