You can split a vacation between points and cash, right?

Isn't it possible to pay for an extra night with cash and not with borrowed points? How does that work?

If there is availability for cash, yes, you can do that.

You can either ask MS to book the cash nights, or you can call CRO and book it there.

If you book through MS, you will not have to change rooms, you will not get housekeeping for the cash night and your combined points/cash stay will appear to be one continuous reservation. If there is availability, you may even be able to get a 25% discount (off rack rate) for the cash night.

If you book through CRO, you may be able to get a better rate / discount. You may have to change rooms between the cash and points portions of your stay. You will get full housekeeping service on your cash night(s). You will have to check out and back in again between the cash and points portions of your stay, even if you get to stay in the same room.

FWIW, there are some categories of rooms (varies by resort)that cannot be reserved for cash. For example, Boardwalk view rooms at the BWV and dedicated 2 bedroom units with two queens in the second bedroom at the BCV cannot be reserved for cash.

Best wishes -
