Okay DVC, how about stocking some GOOD beer at the DVC commissaries??

I mean, Bud and Heineken are, well,... okay, but we really need some quality American brew....

Oh my! Did I hear somebody say "Sam Adams"?

I like my beer while on vacation, and the whole Budweiser thing is essentially just carbonated water with a bit of food coloring. Heiny is one step above that, but still week.
We need some real, robust beer that actually has flavor.
I do NOT want to leave Disney/DVC to go to the grocery store in order to purchase quality beer.

Would anyone else like to see better beer (ahem... Sam Adams) in the DVC commissaries?? :drinking1

I am drinking a Boston Lager RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Please DVC get some Sam!!!!

We always drive down so I'm able to bring my favorite local
beer with me-Abita Amber-Ummmm.:drinking1 :drinking1

When that runs out I go to United Kingdom of a pint of Guinness.

I'm not sure if they still have it but i think SSR has the Old Saratoga Lager. It is good and based on your Sam Adams comments, I'd think you'd like it.

Other than that I agree completely. Bud..... come on with that stuff.

Actually, the beer they brew at the Big River Grill is really good, maybe they should make that more widely available...

Yes, I would like to see better beer than Sam Adams in the DVC commissaries.
Perhaps my post was confusing, but I was trying to say that Sam Adams is a great, high quality beer. I really wish the Disney/DVC resorts would stock it in the gift shop coolers.
If not Sam, than another quality brew would do. I just don't care much for carbonated water with yellow food coloring. :teeth:

a rotating selection of craft beers from every state in the nation. Where I live we have literally dozens of pubs that brew their own. They are very good, and almost always better than any of the national brands, including...gulp...Sam Adams(DON"T HIT ME!!).

While I also enjoy Sam Adams, there are just too many choices of brands and styles out there to be locked into a select few megabrands.

BTW, Bud=headache after only one, for me at least. I think it is the rice.

Kindest regards,
:tigger:

Yes, I've had the Saratoga beer and thought it was good. When I had it, I was at the pool bar. Was it available in the gift shop? If so, that's a step in the right direction (not to mention a big plus for SSR!).

Well if you've seen my other posts you'd know I don't stay there. I'd think they would have it in the store though.

I am a wine enjoyer of, but if it would help MG to have one more vote for Sam Adams and other quality beers at the DVC resorts, then count me in.:thumbsup2

Ahhhh.......this is MY kind of thread. I, too, think DVC should improve the quality of beer they offer at the resorts. The heiny is.....ok.....and I don't even touch anything else.

The Safari Amber they brew at AK would taste great back in my DVC room at night (or afternoon). Maybe they could bottle it?

Sam Adams isn't great (IMHO) but it sure beats the Heiny and anything else they offer. I know you can get Yuengling at a few of the pool bars, so maybe they could offer that? Just theorizing......

I seem to recall that Sam Adams (and a great many others) are available for take-out purchase at the Crews Cup - in a pinch ;)

But aside from that, I agree with MG - good idea!

Better beer and better coffee, definitely.

I can always pack my own coffee, but pretty hard these days to pack extra beer on the flight.

I'm with you, CarnotaurDad. They should bottle some of the Disney Brews and put them in the little grocery stores. It sure would make buying souvenirs a whole lot easier.

I second the call for Yuengling.

I'm sitting here in Chandler, AZ enjoying the West Coast version of that beer - Dos Equis Amber. A good 'Vienna Style' lager in the DVC markets would go a long way toward establishing good-will among the beer loving ownership.

Barring that, Crew's Cup does have have some decent beer options and probably contribtes to BCV's outrageous resale pricing.

Luckily, we drive and come stocked with our own stash. If we run out, then we drive to the nearest Publix and get more.

I will pay WDW prices for some of the draft beer in the World Showcase, but other than that, we take a "resort break" and head back to the room for a while. Sam, Bud, microbrew... I still have trouble paying that much for a six-pack.

If you stay at BWV or BCV, you could probably hike over to the gas station. They have somewhat more of a selection (not really, but at least you can branch out from Bud) and much better prices. I think some of the grocery delivery places will deliver beer if you call and ask, as well.
