~June 27, 2009 Western, anyone?~

Oh ya...can I ask how many have passports for their kids? We opted not to do it. DH has one though. Just curious. Everyone have fun on this countdown....it'll be here before we know it!

We have passports for us and the kids. We got DD8 hers before we took our first cruise back on 04. After traveling out of the country with our birth certificates first, then with passports we decided it would be much easier to get the passports. Now that the rules have changed when flying back into the states, I'd hate to see the red tape if we had an emergency and needed to fly back and didn't have them.
Now that we fly with them to Mexico they need them. I missed out on the opportunity to take DD8 to Mexico back in April (before swine flu outbreak)due to hers expiring, and me forgetting to renew.

Hi Mike - we're not staying at the Radisson ... but we'll be at the Goofy pool at 3pm. If, um, we can figure out which side is Starboard. :thumbsup2

I don't think we ever set a time & place for meeting on Sunday morning. Anyone?? If I had to throw something out, I'd say 10:30 in the Promenade Lounge? Unless something is already scheduled that I missed ... or unless folks have other suggestions.

Howdy!

10:30 in the promenade Lounge sounds great!!

Can't believe we are 10 days away!!! from "the Horn"...okay yes I know it's not all about the horn (it's about the Bahama Mamas!...:lmao:) but it is very cool!!!

And the sail away drinks, the konk coolers, the sea breezes, you get my point!!!

I may not have lost ten pounds yet, but I can now fit into last year's capris, so I'm happy!!! Of course, after drinking all those drinks, I will probably need the bigger size! Six days of school with the kids, one to close out the room. Then it's time to hear that horn!- can not wait. Last night I couldn't sleep because I was obsessing about something I needed to do, but can't figure out what it was - I think I need one of those drinks now!

Boy are we EXCITED! :cool1: So we are flying into Orlando around 11:30 or so and then going to Epcot for lunch and hang out for a while. We are staying at the Radisson the night before and maybe hitting Fishlips for dinner. We ate at Grill's in February and liked it.

My questions are....who is staying at the Radisson the night before and are we still set for a little meet and greet at the Goofy pool (Starboard) at 3pm? :thumbsup2

Mike

We will be at the Radisson the night before. But unfortunately probably not until late!!!! DH has to work, some important inspection thingy. So departure time could be anytime from 2pm till 6pm. Then about a 5 hour drive. Already have ressie for shuttle van the morning of the cruise, 10 am.

Packing is the least of my worries right now. My list of things to do keeps growing. My doctor didn't help yesterday, she doesn't want me leaving country with out tests.... She worries more than me. Football stuff with DS has started. DH needs a jacket and slacks, nails need done, hair needs highlights, bank stuff, bills to be paid while gone, Working almost everyday. I need an assistant. I need this vacation! Hopefully our housesitter still works out (need to clean before he comes). Need last suitcase out of attic. Argggh, yep 10 days and anxiety is setting in.

If I remember meets It will be a miracle. I usually depend on my crackberry, but DH has said no international service. Poor me will be lost. Pencil and paper???

I think I have all my paper work printed out and filled out and signed correctly. I like the old way better, when they mailed it all to you! I had less chance of missing something.

Thanks for listening/reading.

I hear ya sista! I do have recipes for some of those if you get anxious! :yay:

LadyLion: 3:00 meet and greet at the Goofy pool will be great...drinks in hand!!! :drinking1: So the Starboard side is the right side of the ship as you're facing forward...terminal side. Left side is Port (way to remember is 4 letters in each word). :thumbsup2 I don't know what time we will be getting off the ship in Key West but we will try to make the 10:30. :confused3

Kittyscrap: We got passports for all of us (including DS 11) prior to our first cruise several years ago. Just eliminates any problems, and we've never had any thank God. :)

Cmhand30: We plan to be at the Radisson some time before dinner I'm sure. If you do make it early we'll be hanging around the pool. Most likely two families together...with one boy 11 and girl 14. I will be our shuttle..lol. We drive over to the Port, I drop them all off and drive back to the rental car place right next the Radisson and they drive me back to the Port. No lines, no waiting. :cool1:

I totally agree with everyone...can't wait to get a drink in hand and begin our vacation!! As a reminder...they do allow you to bring alcohol on board. You can't have it in your luggage but you can carry it on with you. The night before we boarded our last cruise I got a 12 pack and a nice "cooler tote" (for lack of a better description) from 7-Eleven for 6 dollars. I carried that on and had no problems. They even asked me what was in it. You can bring coolers but no ice! The stateroom person iced it everyday for me and put it in the cold box. I'm doing the same for this cruise. :thumbsup2

I think my DW (ljm23) is going to start posting pictures of the day. Join in please... :woohoo: Excitement is building daily!!! :yay:

OH....by the way...Anyone in Emergency Services on our trip? Police/Fire/EMS??

MIKE pirate: :firefight

As Mike said we did this in the forum on our last cruise to get us revved. Hope others will join in!!!

Got it. Left=port. :thumbsup2 Now ... you're assuming that after all those drinks, I will be able to figure out how to face myself FORWARD. :rotfl2: (BTW, I'm really not as dumb as I sound on these boards!)

Yep, we'll be bringing beverages on board as well. We'll either use our folding cooler or our very small carry-on size little suitcase thing that's on wheels. The one on wheels is easier because we'll get on the ship early and need to keep it with us until rooms are ready. Don't forget your gallon-size freezer ziploc bags, I use them along with ice from the stateroom host to keep everything really cold in that cooler box thing.

Mike, we're not associated with Emergency Services. Are you anticipating an emergency?? :confused3

LOL...no LadyLion..not expecting an Emergency of any sort!! I was asking because I'm a Firefighter/EMT and I met another Firefighter/Medic on our Feb cruise and we've remained friends (as have our wives). As a matter of fact we are taking a $99 bounceback cruise with them in November. So anyway...I was just wondering.:confused3

So start posting some pics....fun to get revved up with and to see our fellow cruisers!!!:thumbsup2 Good job on the first pic Laurie (ljm23) :thumbsup2. That's our DS like she said and it was taken next to Grills bar/restaurant where we ate the night before our cruise. We may try Fishlips which is in the same area.

Mike :drinking1

Mike

We are staying at the Radisson both Thurs and Fri nights. We are doing KSC on Friday and then dinner, but I'll keep an eye out for ya :) I am traveling with a party of 10, so you probably won't be able to miss us! My girls and I are getting pedicures on Wed. and we're thinking lime green. So look for the girls with the lime green toes and that will be us (Karen, Becca, and Sara):cool1:

We have passports for our kids, DD11 and DD9 :)

We are on the same shuttle -- all 10 of us. I'll be the one with the lime green toes!! And a lime green ribbon of course (thanks LadyLion)!

Sooooo excited! Worked on the FE gifts all afternoon today.

Our kids have had passports since they were very little, my DS is on his third one...

About those ten pounds... uhmmm I thought we were supposed to gain... this Boston trip killed me, too many good things to eat...

Congratulations on fitting in last year's capri's. I have to go shopping. DS got his "formal night" stuff in Boston, he won't be wearing a jacket but it looks rather spiffy and "metropolitan". DD still hasn't a clue.

I still can't get in cruise mode... but Monday.... look out world!!!

Anyone allergic to anything? Besides laundry and homework that is?

And now back to what I was supposed to do at 8:30 this a.m.....

C'mon all you regulars....ljm23 (DW) is posting Pictures of the Day!! :thumbsup2 So join in and lets see your pictures because we don't have many days left to do it!!! :cool1:

Mike

No allergies here. Feed us whatever you like!!

Alas, we're first time cruisers so don't have any cruise pics to post. I'll see if I can come up with a pic of something else instead :)

No allergies here ... well, DD is allergic to cats but I assume that you're not planning to bring any live felines onto the ship!!:cat:

Mike, I will try to post a photo later ... once I'm done working ... and as you can tell, I'm working really, really hard right now. I've never posted a photo so you're probably all in for a good laugh, or at least a blank post or two!!
