Disney Nostalgia Pictures

I like the one with the flag poles. I had heard about them being there but I've never seen a picture before. :thumbsup2

I might've just wasted a lot of time at work reading through this whole thread! I only have two old photo's scanned in, but I thought I'd share.

The first one is me and my brother with the (as a previous poster said) Demonic Winnie the Pooh. I'm the one in the fabulous blue bucket hat and my brother is the one facing me in the green shirt.

I wish this other one was clearer . . . it is SUCH a great 1980's picture! It's from 1986. I'm 15 here, but look about 12 :lmao:

Ok, the fact that you noticed the stroller too is very strange. I was going to say that picture from 84 sure has an old looking stroller in it. I would have been in high school then and I was just amazed at how old the stroller looked. I don't FEEL like '84 was the olden days! :rotfl:

I remember my sweatshirt now. It was long and I wore it with leggings and it was Mickey Mouse standing by a brick wall. I think it said Mickey down the side too. :thumbsup2

I love these pictures because there is so much in each of them beyond the first glance!

I noticed the stroller too because it reminded so much of the stroller my younger brother had when he was a baby! It is funny the things that you remmember.

1984 certainly wasn't the olden days - feels like just yesterday in fact!

:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for posting such great photos - please keep them coming. I went on my first trip to DL this year (as an adult) so it is great to see some photos of what it looked like when I was a child. I had always wanted to go to DL because when I was about 6 or 7 they used to advertise DL on TV here in Australia and the tea cups and Dumbo rides were on the ad - looked amazing and it is! Sorry this is a little off topic but nostalgic nonetheless!

Thank you for posting these. I just sat here and looked through the entire thread. Very interesting to see how many things have changed, but yet so many things are still there. Character transformation is incredible.

Seeing all of these pictures makes me realize one thing. Whoever came up with the idea of queing up for character meet and greets was a genius!!

Thanks for posting this, deejdigsdis! I love seeing the clothes from back then!

Yes, I doubt I'll be telling my brothers any time soon that I posted this picture! Can you imagine taking little girls to Disneyland dressed like this, as far as trips to the bathroom go? :scared1: Very cool thread, by the way. I'm excited to go back and look at all the pictures. I've made it through the first few pages and you've got some really great ones. Thanks for sharing!

It's kind of funny seeing all these random people in your character shots. This one is worth the random man on the right, just because of those ears he's wearing!

Thanks for revitalizing this thread, love it!

I was wondering about the man with the girly looking mouse ears too, but wasn't going to say anything because I was afraid you might be related to him and I didn't want to offend! :lmao:

Thanks for posting those great black and white pictures, PrincessShmoo! :thumbsup2 I loved them. It's great seeing how things were back when Disneyland was new! And I love the clothes. Your Dad wore a suit, mine did too! :)

My mom always made our clothes so we would match. My dad was in the Army at the time, so a suit was "dressed down".

Great pictures PrincessShmoo! Wow, were you the only ones there that day?? ;)

You know, I don't really remember

Maybe people were more polite about getting in other people's pictures at the different locations. Or DL was so new that going at Christmas wasn't a thing to do then.

I forgot, here's another picture. It's my husband and his sister about 1964.

Thanks for this one; PrincessShmoo! That's a great picture. :flower3: My goodness, is that Minnie Mouse? So funny. And you know what's so great about it too? Look behind them...there are NO PEOPLE!!! No crowd at all back then!
