What?! In Dallas? Wow that is really crazy! I was born in Dallas and lived there until I was 10 and I think we saw snow MAYBE twice, and it was just light stuff that melted after an hour or so...That is really crazy! I would love to be there to see it, I miss Dallas a lot sometimes...

Yeah, I was shocked to hear it. And from what I see on the news Atlanta really got hit hard.

Frozen northern California here!! The ice was so thick on my van this morning I had to scrape it twice. Thankfully I have gloves.

wow, it's pretty bad when Alaska is having the nicest weather. We are about 14 degree's this morning, which is average for us. Pretty soon people will becoming here for the winter to get away from the cold.:lmao: Oh, Good Morning Everyone!!!

:rotfl:

Okay, I admit that I sound whiny but it was about 25 degrees out when I was outside with the van running to warm it up while I scraped ice. That isn't that much warmer.

Good morning and welcome newbies!!!
The picture my window is showing me lies. I see blue skies with puffy white clouds. I went outside to mail off my unemployement and frooze my tootsie's off

Thanks! :goodvibes

Well as most of you Californians knew, we had almost 8 days of horrific intense fierce rain back during the holidays and let me tell you all this sun has been a welcome relief from that nightmare. :headache:

Our sun is shining, :sunny: our temps are a coolish 55 :cold: but on the way to 67 and later this week they are saying 70's! :yay:

Now, that is the weather they say we have. I would love to hit the sixties here. I bet you are glad to have all that rain behind you. I can't remember seeing rain like that down there for a while.

Oh Michele, it was awful! :sad2:

Now when will your NorCal temps warm up for good, like I mean 50's, 60's?

There is weird weather going on all over this country right now. :headache:

it was cold enough yesturday that if rain was in the forcast, it would have snowed.

Karen, our weather is actually forecast to be a balmy 52 degrees here today. It should warm up to the 60's late next month. But the weather has been so odd you never know.

It has been so odd this year.

Good morning.

I had the same problem Michelle except I sprayed the windshield with water. walked over to hit the wipers and it froze again. Second time I hosed it down and then ran to hit the wipers. It worked. Except for the top it froze again.

how is your man feeling today? was he able to go to work? Everyone here has got some puking stomach flu thing going on. eeewwww.

I am an east coast girl. DH & I are pretty new to SoCal. Spring '08 in the OC and then March '10 in SD County ... but I will tell you my blood has thinned ... I was out walking yesterday with DH ... it got to 68 degrees bright sun and I had on a fleece, one of those winter puffy vests over the fleece and gloves. Ugh. Actually, it was like 64 when we left the house. ;)

I used to be able to tolerate temps in the MINUS'. :sad2:

Good news: I am feeling better today! Told you I would stay healthy for you Michele :goodvibes

So todays weather where I live is insane fog. It's finally lifting a little, but it was bad when I left for breakfast. And it's cold. Can I please go back to Santa Monica. I don't want to be home anymore.

ok, not trying to change the subject here, but i have a question. How do you make a roast in the crockpot that is moist and juicy. I cook mine all day on low, and it is totally covered in liquid, and it falls apart when i take it out. But, it's still dry. And my husband complains. How do you guys cook roasts? Maybe I need to use a roast with some fat on it? I always get the leanest piece i can find. My husband say you need the fat for moisture and flavor. What do you guys think?:confused3

I'll leave this one for someone else to answer, lol. Nobody ever wants cooking advice from me if they want to live! :rotfl:

I know! I hate this. This morning at boot camp (and we're only outside for a bit, most of the time we're in a church gymnasium) my fingers felt like they had frostbite  It was 31 degrees, and much apologies to those who live in colder climates, but for this AZ/CA girl, that is just TOO FREAKING COLD!!!!

And time for *someone* to move down south ;) :rolleyes1

I think you do need to use more fat. Especially when you're cooking it all day. I'm not a crockpot expert though :confused3

I buy mine that have some fat on it. I put it in fat side down. I put in a can of cream of mushroom a packae onion soup mix, sliced onions, potatoes, and carrots. I set the crock to 8 hours. Come home to a juicy piece of meat and a complete meal.

You can also put in a little water or some wine if you want for more moisture
