Limited Time Magic?

I am under-whelmed. Knowing my family's luck, we will go on a lame-o theme week.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the 10-miler and this event coincided on the same weekend? Have they announced the date for next year's 10-miler? We did it this year and I'd LOVE to do it again.

Last weekend of September, just like this year (it was listed on the last page of the program- there was a "save the date" type of thing). I'm planning to do it again next year too!! :thumbsup2

This strikes me as something that will bug Dissers (who will know what they missed) more than the folks who just show up and go, "Wow! I had no idea! This is so cool!" The DisBoards is all about doing your research, so you can get access to things other people can't. We like having our hard work rewarded. So randomness bugs us, because we can't plan for it. It feels unfair. ("Why should they get the goodies, when I did all the work? Disney deliberately withheld information from me! Aaagh!")

ITA with this.

I'm loving the idea and I'm already planning on how I can go more than my 2 times next year, if I have to make a weekend trip to see my favorite character, I'll most likely will. This is the good side of visiting a planning board, you will know in advance when thing are happening.

I'll be there for Valentine's week and even though I won't have a better half with me, I'm excited about that. A little bit of pixie dust never hurts.

I would like for them to release some sort of schedule so that I can plan in advance to go. We are lucky enough to be able to plan spur of the moment trips so I need a schedule of the weeks.

Yeah, that way people running the ToT 10-Miler might actually get to see some villians...
And yes, on the back of the ToT Official Race Guide booklet, the ToT 10-Miler weekend is scheduled for September 27-28, 2013.

They'll be releasing more info as the weeks come.

I see nothing that interests me so much that I would plan a trip around it. It seems more likely to attract the locals to buy Annual passes and visit more often

I am excited to find out what will be going on when we're there in May.
Fingers crossed it's something good!

Which is why I need to start saving money... :p

I think this is a great theme! I'm going the 11th-25th next year though and as excited as I am about the villains, I'm now also worried about crowds for my trip :(

I'm with you here! I'm looking forward to the opportunity to meet prince/princess pairs and will just celebrate their love stories :goodvibes

I don't think we'll be able to go but I hope the rare character week is busy so they think about adding those characters back in. I know DD would love to meet Claribel!

Sorry. But any time you put the word "limited" in the title, I think you're off to a bad start.

I like the idea of the events they are planning. But the theme name has to go.

I don't think they'll give enough details far enough in advance for me to take advantage though.

My thoughts exactly. I like the idea of some of the events, especially the lost characters one and bringing back the Golden Horseshoe Revue, but I really dislike the name. Like others have said, you can't put a limit on Magic, especially Disney Magic....Disney please just change the name!!! :thumbsup2

i believe the 10-miler is the last weekend of September. and there was a Villains Bash for that. i'm hoping this is a different weekend though, to kind of break up the crowd.

i didn't hear great reviews from the Villains Bash though.

i also think the rare characters week sounds good too. they had such a great opportunity with Pete's Silly Sideshow and then just put more common characters in there. i was watching the Lines app and there doesn't appear to ever be much of a wait there. i'd bet if they put Pete, Horace, Clarabelle, etc. in there, it would be packed!

I think the theme title could use some work, but I have never gone to WDW based a specific year's theme or what it might be. Half of my trips, I did not even know the theme until I got there and saw it on everything I looked at.

So, in 2013, when I will not have as much vacation time to make the trips to Florida I have in the past, they have things that intrigue me into figuring out if I can do long weekends.

•Long Lost Friends Week: Lesser-known Disney characters will move from the shadows to the spotlight meet-and-greets on both coasts. Photo opps with characters that could include Flik, Clarabelle Cow, Remy, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum will surprise and delight guests. And Disney guests even have the chance to vote online for which characters they want to see.

I am interested in Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, but would really loose my mind to meet someone like Robin Hood or Figment. If I found out I could meet one of them, I would just have to make the trip.

•Pirate Week: Why talk like a pirate one day when you could celebrate these scalawags all week long? The adventures of Jack Sparrow come to life like never before during a bicoastal buccaneer bash in which Disneyland and Walt Disney World become pirate-palooza: pirate bands, pirate meet-and-greets and more.

My dad's favorite holiday is the day you talk like a pirate. He loved the Pirates ride before the movies. We had planned to go on the Dream in Decemeber, but might have to change plans a bit or make a quick trip down for this.

•Dapper Dans Sing Boy Bands: The Dapper Dans, the iconic quartet from Main Street, U.S.A., will add a special finale to their show, claiming the title of the “Original Boy Band” and delivering a medley of hits from One Direction, *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys.

I would not make a special trip for this, but I think it would be fun to see this.

•Unleash the Villains: Friday the 13th in September 2013 is a special day, so Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are staying open until the 13th hour (1 a.m.). Maleficent, Captain Hook, Jafar and other Disney Villains host a dance party, complete with limited-edition collectibles and other nighttime mischief.

This would be a blast, but I wander if this would run the week before with the pirate festival running the week after as September 19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day. Maybe they would run the pirate week during a different time frame, but running it back to back would allow for a weekend carry-over from one to the other.

Posted this on another thread but......

Hmmm... i guess we'll see how this one turns out...
It seems that "the magic" everyone expects at Disney will become its theme... With what little has been mentioned, these things or events seem to be things you would already expect to happen at Disney....again, we'll see.:coffee:

I like the theme and all the stuff they're gonna be doing, but the name is terrible. Having "Limited Magic" just doesn't sound like a lot of fun. :confused3

Thanks for that.

But, without anything to compare size in the shot, I can't tell if that castle is
this big:

Or this big:

(Or some other size.)

I am excited for this but we go several times a year and are actually trying to move back to FL. I am voting to meet KRONK!
