WDW for Couples - Post your questions and suggestions here!!!

Can you just walk in without any sort of reservation? Is it crowded?
Reservations are required although, I found it to be a nice relaxing atmosphere. It's located on an upper floor

I saw a few children & they were well behaved

A nice location for drinks is at the Wilderness Lodge pool bar...it's beyond the pool area you can get your drinks & walk and sit at the opposite side facing Bay Lake. Strolling around the grounds at this hotel is nice. Around 9:15 the Floating Electrical Pageant passes by this resort

At Coronado Springs is the Rix Lounge DJs spin Top 40 tracks 9 pm - 2. Pm.; a percussion band performs on select evenings
This resort has the Laguna Bar at the outdoor terrace alongside the lake

At Downtown Disney, granted more noise, there's Paradiso 37. It's nice sitting at the tables outside facing the water

I have a question for all of you couples who've been without kids: what are the most romantic lounges? DH and I like to sit in interesting bars/lounges and have cocktails and apps. We are in our 40s, so not really interested in super loud or late night crowds. Just low key wonderfulness. Thanks.

Haven't been in a number of years, but we always enjoyed the Belle Vue Room at the Boardwalk. Things always change at Disney, but when we went it was full of cozy sofas and chairs, old time radio shows playing in the background and board games available to play. Not sure how romantic it is, but it's quiet and low key, very Disney. We don't like the typical night club scene so that's why we enjoy it. I liked the bar at Animal Kingdom Lounge too, Victoria Falls?
The Wilderness Lounge has a nice bar too but it can get rather crowded. The food is great there though.

im not a drinker (anymore) but if your are looking for quiet I would stay out of world showcase on the weekends, tends to be the amateur nights. :thumbsup2

If you are DVC there is a members only lounge we love. We go almost every night during our trips.

Dh (50) and I (48) went for the first time last May as only a couple and had a marvelous time! We have been over 10 times in the past 18 years with our kids but celebrated our 26th anniversary last year at WDW during the Flower and Garden festival. Loved it!
We slowed down a bit and spent more time at the resorts taking a bike ride, renting a boat, dining at places we wouldn't take the kids. It was very romantic and just a totally different type of vacation than with a family.

We loved it so much we are trying to go to F&W this fall :thumbsup2

If you liked F & G you will love Food and Wine. You should get costumes and hit MNSSHP at the Magic Kingdom, it is a blast for adults. We were apprehensive at first but now it is a must do for us. Took our kids last year (24 & 25) and they had a great time too. They want to go again.

have been to the world an average of twice a year for pasy 20 years. Oct will br first time for F&W and first with no kids. Any suggestions??

We love Via Napoli, it is like the pizza we get in Italy! What could be more romantic than a slice of pizza and a pitcher of sangria followed by a stroll around world showcase?. We do it every visit.

There's nothing like eating a pizza on the trattoria.

We did not have a drink there but the lounge in Coronado Springs looks fantastic. The one in AKL is different but looks nice too.

Very simple... DH and I loved walking around Epcot, trying different tapas and drinking a little glass of champagne.

We love Via Napoli (especially when seated on the trattoria) ...

O.k. Friends... I got my answer:

It's a "no" for the couples section. :sad1:

So... I edited this thread. I think it would be nice for people to come here and find answers to their questions, and suggestions. :)

Welcome lovebirds!! ! :wave2:

We always enjoy getting a F & W passport and eating/drinking around the world. Each country will stamp your passport and when you get them all stamped you can go to the festival center and get a special stamp. We also enjoy the food and beverage seminars. They are not very expensive and several are geared towards adults. The concerts are fun definitely oldies but goodies.

If we continue to "suggest" adding a Couples Forum to the boards, the powers that be, will see that CW/OK ( couples with/out kids ) are a major part of the DISboards, and deserve to be recognized as such.

My wife and I have been to WDW 18x since 1998; only 6 of those times did we take the kids/grandkids.

We have never seen the Electric Water Parade; any suggestions as to the best place to view it ? Need easy access to Buses back to PO-R. Looking forward to being "HOME" beginning May 14th.

My suggestion is to walk from MK to the Contemporary and watch from their beach. They pipe in the music, when it is over you can walk back or take the monorail to TTC.

I am on my phone so I can't quote but it is great to run across another Contemporary/BLT lover! Now back to work I go.
