Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

MakiraMarlena,
Thank you sooo much for the info! I had no idea you could do all that - sounds like it can be complicating. At least gives me ideas if needed. Thank you again for the helpful info!

I believe you can put all of your park tickets under the reservation with free dining. After all, the more ticket days you book together, the less they cost per day. Let's say you were staying for 8 days and free dining was offered for the third night of your trip on. You would book a room only for the first two nights, then make a second booking for the remaining nights (5-6 depending on what time of day you're checking out). You would add 8 day park tickets to your second booking. You would still only get 5-6 days worth of credits because it's based on your room stay not the number of days your tickets are for.

Thank you sooo much for the info!! Could I used the 8 day park pass for the first half of my trip or would I need to wait until the second half?

I have a question about doing a split stay - I've heard about folks doing this to get FD. How does it work? You book resort and park passes for one set of days and then another ressie for resort and another park pass? How does that affect FP+? You have two 60 day windows? Thank you!!
We booked the split stay last year. We arrived two days prior to free dining, so we booked a 2 night room only stay, and a 7 night package with FD (with 9 day tickets). The FP window only opened 60 days from the package start date because the tickets were tied to that. We did early package ticket pickup on arrival day, and we were able to book FPs for those first two days at that time. We paid OOP for our food the first two days.

ETA: you can only get your tickets up to 3 days early, and doing so screwed up our dining credit activation when we checked in for our second part of our stay. We had to hit guest services at MK to get it fixed.

November dates for discounted rooms are out! I got the mailing yesterday! I think this means that if free dining is going to happen....the offer should be out soon (hoping). The dates are 11/1 to 11/5, 11/9 to 11/20, 11/28 to 11/30. The add includes Value Resorts (no specific resorts), moderate resorts (no specific resorts) and AK and Wilderness for the Deluxe Resorts. I just think this is a really good sign for those of waiting to hear for November deals. Anyone else have any thoughts about this?
Wait, I'm sorry but I'm not understanding, what is "November dates for discounted rooms"? I'm assuming this is your own personal PIN for November? Or did Disney say they didn't send a promotion out yet for November but when they do it will be on xxx dates??

Great! So you can still use the park days for the first half of your stay even though it's linked to your 2nd half pkg stay? Where do you go for early pkg pickup? Guest relations? Or can you do it at the resort? Thank you sooo much!!

Please see the edit under my last post. Also, we were able to get the tickets at our resort concierge desk (at Pop), but only because both portions of our stay were there, and the CM knew how to do it. Otherwise you need to do it at guest services at one of the 4 parks or DTD.

That looks like a standard rack rate promotion ad to me.

Yeah, it was a mailing from Disney, no pin code and it listed the room prices not a particular percent discount. I was encouraged because this is the first mailing I have received with November dates. I'm hoping this is a sign of more to come SOON!

I got one yesterday for Sept. Same type of ad. No pin code, just saying to come in September with regular room rates. Looked exactly like the emails with the game board an mickey. I hope this means fall promotions coming soon.

Those are promotional flyers for rack rate rooms, and no indication of any actual offers. We get them in our email pretty much weekly. Lol

Thank you for your info and insight! Maybe I'll get lucky and FD is for our whole stay :-) our dates are oct 20-29. The waiting and nail biting continues :-) thank you again!!

I have a question. Why do we need to pick up the tickets? Don't we get magic bands and the tickets go there?

Under normal circumstances, you do not have to do anything. I needed access to tickets that were tied to a future reservation, so they needed to be "turned on" so to speak.

How did you get on the email list? I have a Disney account and I have been playing with trip planning. The only emails I get are "Remember the Magic in your cart" telling me to book my planned trip.

I got emails but they were just rack rates one when I first signed up. Now I get nothing. I feel like you get more and will only get pins if you are a repeat customer. I could be wrong. I have signed up for about any and every disney website and I expected my email and mail box to explode, but I have barely gotten a thing. I also opened a Disney Visa and I am hoping that helps, but it sounds like that might not matter much either.

I have been going to WDW twice a year for a total of 7 trips so far since the last few years and I have not received a pin code nor has my husband or the other families who travel with us. I have a Disney Visa, Disney vacation account, Disney Movie account, etc and nada. I have called and asked to see if I have one associated with my name/address - no such luck.

I would consider going at a different time of year if I could get an awesome discount. We book bouncebacks so maybe that is why we don't get pin codes. who knows....

How completely random!

I was told that pin codes are only for those who have traveled there before, but yet no one has figured out who or how they target those repeat customers to send pin codes.

We are booked already because we have saved and know we will go regardless of a free dining promo, but it pains me a bit to pay full price. Realistically I know something will come out (even if its just a room discount).

I am just surprised that I am not getting spammed by Disney more after being a first timer signing up for all these websites. Maybe they know they already got me because I have booked.

I wonder this too. Since you are already booked, is there less chance of being selected for pins or promotional materials? Maybe they can tell?
