I would love to stay there, it was absolutely beautiful and the themed rooms to the extent that they are, are right up my alley. But it doesn't fit into the budget at over double the cost of a different value resort.

I just threw the pin number question out there just in case there was SOMETHING available to Disney Visa card holders. I am already booked at POR....and we do plan to go whether or not we get any discounts. I was just REALLY hoping for a discount...either free dining (which we've always gotten in the past with no problem), or a room discount. Thanks for the pixie dust. I think I'm going to need lots of it!

We got POR booked for 9/7-9/19...had to add the hoppers and upgrade to garden view...but still saves $ for our family. Our TA modified around 6am this morning

Broke down and made a reservation for Nov 10th - 14th. Not thrilled with an All Star Music Suite . I really wanted Caribbean Beach. But the alternative was not going at all. So I will keep checking for a cancellation , but at least I got a reservation somewhere. I kept reading the messages here and thought , at this rate it could totally sell out soon. So I guess I am grateful to have anything at this point.

Thanks! Our family was dead set on CBR but when they only had availability for a Pirate room, I decided to book POP Preferred instead.

Would you be willing to quickly list some reasons why you love POP and why you like it better than CBR or other Mods? My kids are 16 and 13 and I'm concerned that they won't have fun; maybe they will feel out of place because they are older. I know my daughter will really miss the slide at CBR and I will miss the hot tub but it may be good to try something new. We stayed at POP for a few hours last year (in after midnight and out at the crack of dawn) before we checked into CBR so we really didn't have anytime to explore.

CBR...we wanted POP, but nothing available for our dates, 8/31-9/6.

Before I attempt a 2+ hour long distance phone call from Canada can someone who knows more than I do confirm that a vacation from august 23-29 with 5 day park hopper tickets for 2 adults (although I'm going to be adding a 3rd adult) at all-star music in a 'standard view' room should qualify?? (we booked the summer offer but we're going to drop that in favour of free dinning).

I've been on hold for over an hour. About 30 minutes ago the website miraculously worked and I was able to book a new reservation at CBR in a pirate room with FD.
I'm staying on hold though because I really wanted to stay at POR so I'm going to check for a room discount or a pin before I cancel. Either way I'll be happy with whatever I end up with.

But how many people (like me) wouldnt have gotten hoppers? And how many upgraded to preferred rooms or a higher resort tier that otherwise wouldnt have?

I was just trying to say that Disney knows what they are doing, and overall, they wont lose money on this.

We did. We have never had PH or a water view, but I had to take that to get free dining. We are staying at CBR 11/19 -11/30. I booked online at 5:00 am est, no standards available. It still saves us money, just not as much as I had planned.

When I originally priced it, it was in a standard room at POP. Now, with the premium pool room requirement, it adds an additional $231 to the POP reservation. But Sports is even less than the original cost of POP in the standard room. I think POP was $2889 and Sports is now listed as like $2700. Maybe the rates are cheaper at Sports for my dates? I can't check the breakdown for sure because the website won't let me.

The AS's are usually a little cheaper than pop, not sure why.

My family loves Pop. I really think it's sentimental for the most part...it's where we first stayed on our very 1st trip. We've been to other moderates over the years but there's just something about Pop Century. I really think your kids will enjoy it!
