Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

sorry if this has already been asked, I looked but couldn't find it. I read that Trinidad North and Martinique are preferred locations. How far of a walk are they from bus area, food court and main pool area? What is your favorite location and why? :-)

Every village has their own bus stop so no matter where you are you'll be under 2 minutes to a bus stop. Martinique 24, 25 and 26 are have preferred rooms as does Trinidad North. Those locations are under 2 minutes to the food court or the Main Feature pool.

We always stay standard and our favorite location is Jamaica 45.

Last time we stayed at Pop Century (and after reading reviews), I brought a small fan for air circulation and white noise and I brought a power strip. Are these items needed at CBR? We drive but the less to move in and out the better. I think the renovations took care of the power strip need... Any thoughts?

If you have a smartphone there's some decent apps that provide the white noise as well. For iPhone I use Rain, Rain Free. When I had an Android, I used WhiteNoiseFree.

We are back again! We were meant to be spending a week at CSR but after one night we asked to be moved to CBR. Why? Well the room there was very much how the old CBR rooms used to be before the remodeling. It was dark, musty smelling and the beds were old and uncomfortable (too hard). We also missed the Murphy bed at CBR, the two sinks, the modern bathroom, the clean carpet, the great storage. Sure CSR has great grounds and pool (at a pinch slightly better than CBR if I am honest) and it did have a foosball table, and ping pong. The food court did not offer the food we like as much as at CBR - though it did have some interesting options they just weren't for us. The grab n go section wasn't as good as at CBR.

Apparently CSR is about to commence remodeling, so it might be better soon and one day we might give it another try.

For noting @mickeystoontown, 4363 has a Murphy bed and is non-connecting.

It is good to be home at CBR (even if just for 5 days).

Thank you so much!! :) I had considered bringing cereal and plastic / Styrofoam bowls. Excited to see they have a little store!
We just switched our reservations from POR to here because it saved us some money. I'm hoping we like it! :)

Excellent choice! We were fans of POR and then had to switch to CBR for Free Dining years ago. Ever since that first stay, we haven't been able to go back to POR or anywhere else.

It is more expensive but we buy the individual bowls of cereal (at most stores) & the milk cartons that don't have to be refrigerated... If u are short on time in the morning u can just throw the cereal, milk & spoon in a bag and eat it while waiting for rope drop! Pop tarts and portable yogurt also work great... Plus it is something to do while u wait

I think the transportation for the runs is not the same as the regular park transportation, at least where it picks up/drops off. I suspect there is one spot, maybe the main bus stop, where they do the run buses. Hopefully, someone who has actually done the runs and stayed at CBR will answer your question. The boards really need a Run Disney forum. We are considering the F&W runs in 2017, so I have started to try to find info. It's hard. Good luck.

There is a runDisney forum and it has some great info. Come join us!

Cool:thumbsup2 I thought there would be one, but I couldn't readily find it. DH and I will have to check it out and study about the F&W marathon. Thanks
Love the rundisney forum. It's a wealth of info and a lot of knowledgable runners look to help each other out.

Accidentally posted in the older thread, so am moving my question here...Sorry for the question (haven't stayed at Caribbean Beach) - does one bus stop at all six villages before heading to it's respective park? It seems like this would take forever, but I'm hoping that's not the case. I tried to read through the thread to find the answer to this, sorry - too much to read through! Also - Caribbean Beach doesn't share buses with any other resort, right? Many thanks!

Yes, every bus we were on did stop at all the villages. I was surprised at how fast it really was, it took about 6 minutes from Jamaica to leave the resort. The only time it took longer was when a scooter was coming onto the bus. Epcot and HS are really close, MK and AK took a bit longer.

The buses do stop at each village resort and it really doesn't take as much time as you would think. Of course, if they have to stop to load a scooter or wheelchair, it takes a little longer but that would be the case at any resort. The buses at Caribbean Beach are designated for Caribbean Beach only. There is no sharing of buses with other resorts.

At one point in time, there was talk that there would be a change in the bus system. A bus would pick up and drop off only one side of the resort and then another bus would pick up the other side; however, we haven't had anyone here report that it was a permanent thing.

Did it again, posted in old thread. Reposting here: We are planning a trip for the fall, in hopes they will offer free dining then. We'll see. On that note, I am trying to choose between hotels that have historically been included in free dining. Last time, we stayed at Pop Century and enjoyed it, but I'm considering CBR this time. For those of you who have stayed at both Pop and CBR, what makes you choose CBR? it would cost my family about $250 more to stay at CBR, but I don't mind paying that if it's worth it. Just curious. What's grabbing my attention right now are the beaches and the nicer pools. Thanks in advance!

DOH! I didn't realize I replied in the old thread. I will repost my reply is case somebody else comes by and wonders the same thing you asked. What you will get at CBR over Pop.

Bigger rooms
Queen Beds
Double Sinks
Ceiling fans
An actual door between the bathroom area and sleeping area
Pool slides
Hot tubs
Multiple Covered bus stops
Sit down restaurant
Bike Rentals
Lusher grounds
Relaxed laid back atmosphere

We're here now and I've enjoyed the little we've seen of the resort. We check out in the morning but it has been a nice 4 nights. We did have a broken bathroom light, it works again. And I did have to call for extra shampoo and conditioner. Otherwise everything has been great. My only regret is we never had time to try Shutters. Maybe next time.

Jamaica 4153 is a corner room with a pull down bed. 2nd floor overlooking the courtyard. There is no freezer in the fridge.

For anyone staying at CBR, when the Hollywood studios Star Wars fireworks go off (currently 8pm), there is a reasonable viewing spot in the Jamaica carpark in front of building 43 (you need to go out into the carpark and get past as many trees as you can, but not as far as grass). You can see all the high up fireworks just not the really low ones, and on a clear non windy night you can hear the Star Wars commentary and music. I would advise seeing them once at the park at least but then if you want to see them again while at CBR this was a nice memory for us. We love these fireworks.
