October/Halloween Trip Reports

We will be there for our first Halloween!! Oct 19- nov7, I even signed up for the 5k, lots of firsts this trip. This was supposed to be our first trip to the fort but we snuck down in June Now, I'm a little concerned about the number of people that will be visiting the fort that day/evening. Other than that we are super excited for this trip! We plan on joining the golf cart parade and taking our 3 year old trick or treating. Do most people drive the carts around while trick or treating?

Yes most everyone that has a cart use it to trick or treat. Most will just follow along with their kids while in the loops. In our case we just go looping/riding around after we run out of candy. We love to see all the different ways people decorate. Last year one lady built a complete walk through Spook House.

We will be there the 27th-31st! We were only able to get in for one night last year, so this is our first time spending the whole weekend. What tips do you have? Will festivities happen on the weekend even though halloween is on a Monday?

If I remember correctly they have things the day before and on Halloween. Generally kids activities by the Meadows pool area. Things like pumpkin decorating and art stuff. Then don't forget to plan on watching or participating in the golf parade. The time people put into decorating a golf cart is crazy and fun. At check in they give you a brochure explaining all the activities. I'm sure someone will post it here as soon as it comes out. If you have bikes or a cart plan on riding the loops the evening before Halloween. You can see all the decorations people have and also get a feel of the lay out before the insane crowds arrive for Trick or Treating. We'll be there Oct 23 to Nov 1st this year. And we rented a cart.

DH added some LED lights to the inside of the roof of our cart. Now we are lit from top to bottom, lol. Can't wait to add some Halloween decorations to it. Not sure if we will be in the parade or just watch.

So I'm sitting here bored and poking around the disboards and I see on another thread that the correct park hours for October are not posted yet. They show Hollywood Studios as closing at 7 pm each night. Then it hits me that the day after tomorrow is our 60 day mark from check in. I haven't even began my touring plans. Mush less considered fast passes. At least it will be a day at a time all this week. Anyone else wanna share my stress ??

60 day Mark today, fast passes booked. Took longer than planned as the system is different than last time I booked FP. Looking forward to seeing all the Halloween decorations!

No thank you, no stress allowed at Disney, lol. We are annual pass holders, so we don't stress about the parks or fast passes. If we don't get to a park while we are camping, no biggie. We will probably only hit one park during our 4 days, the rest of the time just enjoying the Fort and camping.

We are a group of 6 adults with AP's and have 7:00pm reservations for Trails End. We were hoping to catch some of the golf cart parade before our dinner. We will not be trick or treating but would love to see some of the decorations around the fort. In reading this thread, don't think we will drive there. I'm wondering if we should change our reservations to another night. Really want to see all the decorations but don't want it to be too crazy.

You will have plenty of time after the golf cart parade. Just stand on that end of the main road and you will have a nice short walk to dinner.

Dollar Tree has their Halloween stuff out! Got everything I need to decorate our cart. October can't get here fast enough.

On another note, went to Animal Kingdom last night to see the night time shows. The Jungle Book was ok, but the animation on the Tree of Life was amazing. Looking forward to seeing the River of Light show when it is finally ready. CM said it would be mid September as long as there are no set backs.

One of my favorites was the site that was decorated just like the Haunted Mansion. Hope its there again this year!

I agree with you on the Jungle book show. It was ok. A chance to get off your feet after a long day at Animal Kingdom. I thought the music was good and the dancing and drummer on the small boats directly in front of the seating areas was good. As for the animation on the Tree of Life, it was as you said "amazing". Its just like when they animate the castle at MK. In my opinion, well worth staying till the end to watch. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Today is my 60 day mark. Had no problems doing online check in but I couldn't do my fast passes. The calendar would not go past September :(.
