Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Maybe they are regional machines. We have had them around here for about 5 years. Various fast food locations and our movie theaters all have them.
They look like this, and have about 150 different drink combinations

All these choices, but I don't see iced tea. Do they still have the Gold Peak dispensers?

You could take the bus to Disney Springs, then a boat to POFQ
Oh, ok. That won't work. Well, it would work, but I think I'll rearrange my plans a little.

We are gonna be a the Contemporary and I was thinking we could take the boat to Fort Wilderness to spend some time there before returning to PORFQ. But, I don't want to get involved with Disney Springs that way, not at that time. It'll already be a long day. I'll save Disney Springs when we can go by boat.

I would probably take the boat back to MK, then the bus to POFQ if you are Ft. Wilderness

The new food court looks great. Can't wait to see other resorts receive the Freestyle upgrade. Thoroughly enjoyed using them during my stay last month and definitely makes the mug price worth it.

You aren't limited to DS, you can go to any park and from there to FQ. Either take the boat back to MK (what I'd do) or take the next park bus to show up

If you are going to be at CR, then I would walk back to MK and take a direct bus to POFQ. If you do not want to go back to MK, then I would bus to DHS and then to POFQ.

A hidden gem at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter, Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory has reopened after being reimagined, and has added even more flavors inspired by New Orleans to their menu, including jambalaya, po’ boys, gumbo, and more.

Home-style favorites such as create-your-own pasta, salads and pizza are still available for lunch and dinner, in addition to new flavors inspired by New Orleans. Specialty burgers include a Cajun King Burger with Andouille sausage, Cheddar Cheese and Creole mustard aioli and a Crawfish Mac & Cheese Burger. Enjoy Jambalaya or a create-your-own rice bowl with pulled pork, catfish or shrimp, red or black beans, and Cajun, dirty or white rice. Po’ Boys will also be served catfish, shrimp or beef topped with lettuce, tomato and remoulade.

For dinner, enjoy new entrees like prime rib, pork rack, roasted sustainable fish, fried chicken and BBQ ribs with your choice of sides—including Mache Choux, collard greens, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, mac and cheese, macaroni salad and red beans and rice.

New breakfast items have also been added to the menu, and include Crispy-Fried Chicken on a Biscuit with maple-bacon jam, Molasses-Cream Cheese Cinnamon Roll, House-made Coffee Cake, Jumbo Sweet Potato Belgian Waffle topped with toasted pecans, whipped cream and apple-cranberry compote, Cajun Grit Bowl with Shrimp and soft-poached eggs, a Breakfast Po’ Boy with scrambled eggs, Andouille sausage, and sautéed peppers and onions, Pain Perdu, a French toast made with a baguette and warm fruit topping.

Signature made-to-order beignets are now available with new dipping sauces, including raspberry, caramel and chicory-coffee ganache. Or take your dessert over the top with a decadent hand-dipped gelato sundae in a beignet bowl. Other new desserts include a warm Chocolate-Caramel Bread Pudding and house-made Pecan Pralines. Of course, no visit to “The Big Easy” would be complete without a Louisiana-style King Cake, perfect for celebrating Mardi Gras anytime.

Laissez les bons temps rouler when the new menu debuts November 19 at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory!

Lots of choices! Thanks for the ideas.

We may ultimately go back to POR by bus from the MK. Then take a break and later drive over to the bus stop at FW and ride the internal bus to the Pioneer Hall / stable / wagon ride area.

Do you know if there will be special Thanksgiving offerings/menu?

Don't know, they have done in the past but as this food court is so new I'm not sure. They could easily add turkey to the meat & vegs offering for a short period I guess.

Disappointed that the pot roast didn't make the cut. I really loved the pot roast. Since I don't do seafood, I guess I'll be eating a lot more fried chicken next trip. The breakfast items sound good though.

I really don't like the Freestyle machines.

To me, none of the soda tastes right. Especially if you want something simple, like Cherry Coke or even regular Sprite.

Oh, well. Not a big deal. We drive so I can bring bottled soda and drink that.

Answer to #2 is Yes. All that can be found here
http://www.portorleans.org/room-locations.php
Scroll down to the FQ map, click on a building and it will show you all the rooms, category and if they connect.

As for #1, we didn't even bring the ECV in to our room at CR, some of the biggest on property. None of the rooms are big enough for people, suitcases and ECV, in my opinion. We charged it out in the hall. I've seen them outside at all the resorts
I had a scooter and a wheelchair at french quarter and it fit in my room
