Ok, This or That game!

Prime Time 50s or Sci-fi?
Liberty Tree or Diamond Horseshoe?
Crystal Palace or Plaza?
Ohana or 1900 Park and Fare?

Keep in mind we're Australian, so cheesy American is no problem for us. Tourist kitsch it right up our alley! Fingers crossed we get FD so there is not This or That. We just get it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: we're foodies, but for this trip, atmosphere and fun will probably trump the menus. Our daughter will be 12 so is young enough to enjoy the kids stuff, but is fine with doing more grown up stuff too. She's a foodie too but isn't fussy.
THis is a hard list!
If you like the fun part 50s-but i think everyone should do sci if once for atmosphere
Crystal palace
Ohana for breakfast, 1900 for dinner with the step sister is great interaction!
I have not eaten at the other 2

I've eaten at all these places and these were easy choices for me.

Sci-Fi - atmosphere, loved their salads and burgers
LTT - mmmmturkey, love that colonial atmosphere too, lots to look at
CP - consistently great food
Ohana - any excuse to go to the Poly works for me

Question: If you get regular free dining, does anyone know the cost to upgrade to deluxe?

Currently booked at Contemporary w/ deluxe, but hoping for free dining.

About $51 per adult per day.
My husband and I got the deluxe dining on our honeymoon and it was WAAAY too much food. We go to Disney pretty much just to eat so that's saying something for us. We had a ton of credits left over even after we hit the resort QS and stocked up on snacks to take home. We always get the regalar disney dining now and it's always plenty of food.

I have had heard it's a lot of food. But, if you have a few two credit restaurant reservations, it may be beneficial. We're also staying at contemporary with the DDP, but may upgrade to the deluxe.

We upgrade to the deluxe and it's worth it for us bc we do ton character meals with our kids

That's why we are planning to get it. I looked at menus and worked out the cost. We are planning CRT, SOA show, BOG, Coral Reef, Mama Melrose, T-Rex, and then breakfasts at Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, and Hollywood and Vine. We will do QS lunch so we don't waste park time eating, but I think we will still come out ahead with the deluxe. This is only our second trip and first time planning for the deluxe though so I may be wrong? I am hoping that FD will help with the cost.

Which restaurants need full payment at the time of the reservation? It really stinks to have to pay a couple of thousand for dinner six months away.
Cinderellas royal table, hoop de doo, and spirit of aloha. If you have the dining plan on your reservation, you don't have to pre pay. They just take the credits off of it. If you cancel you get them back just like if you pre paid.

I'm new to the thread, but not to free dining! We are booked at CBR the last week of September taking advantage of the gift card offer.

Hoping of course that the stars magically align and I'm able to keep my gc and get free dining. Not counting on it tho. ;)

So I'm following the thread and ready to change my reservation for the best discount.

And my answers are:

Sci-fi
Liberty Tree
Crystal Palace
Ohana!!

I could imagine. Last time we were on the regular plan and found it to be plenty. And that was with a forced qs dessert instead of two snacks!

We just upgraded, we are 4 disney adults and have 7 nights at the BC. We have fd bb from last summer. I upgraded a few days ago and it was about 1010. We plan to go to yachtsman 2x and Narcoosee's. We usually order apps at signature meals so for us, it is worth it. Debating throwing in HDDR too.

I have to put in my vote for Sci-fi. We just love the atmosphere there! And the made to order omelets at 1900 PF are worth the visit. We haven't done Ohana but we have reservations for this trip, we kept 1900 PF in our rotation too!!

"In addition to food, guests on the Premium Dining Plan receive: Unlimited selected recreation, including golf, golf lessons, miniature golf, guided fishing excursions, parasailing, water skiing, wake boarding, watercraft rentals, bike rentals, cane pole fishing, tennis, horseback trail rides, pony ride, horse-drawn carriage rides, and archery. Some restrictions may apply and advance reservations may be required. Premium plan guests also get unlimited admission to select theme park tours, a Cirque du Soleil ticket for each person, as well as admission to the children’s activity centers."

All those perks could add up to $50 a day easy! Can anyone comment on having used these extras? It almost seems to go to be true.

Premium and platinum were discontinued...there's just quick, standard, and deluxe now

Premium Dining was apparently discontinued, which is different from the deluxe dining. Boo.
