So I'm back tonight from a down-and-back to Gulf State Park. Got into town slightly after 11am and had lunch at the Tacky Jacks (Gulf Shores location).
It was good. I got a grilled grouper sandwich with fries and DD got the shrimp tacos (soft shell). I like getting my seafood any-way-but-fried at the coast. It was a nice morning albeit a cloudy one so we ate outside with a view of the canal. Sorry, no food pics.
The view was marred when Teamubr's yacht rode through a training run in preparation for His Arrival next weekend. I knew it was his because the Eurotrash boat crew in their starched dress whites (in shorts) were using rolls of 500-euro notes to wash the boat windows and then tossing the used bills in the water. Jim, we're trying to go green down here.
Next I rolled over to the local Wal-Mart where us little people shop to pick up a few things. In the last year or less they have added a "Beach Shop" section with some local "Gulf Shores" t-shirts. I am such a sucker for tie dye so I HAD to get one of the shirts on the left today. I'll wear it proudly next week. And it was affordable.
It was gusty and lightly sprinkling when I checked in about 1230pm at Gulf. Got my trailer backed in perfectly on the first attempt. Really. You believe me, right?
Ducking in and out of the rain I got set up. The weather cleared as I was leaving (wouldn't you know) but I'm ready for some vacation. But the wind was brisk while I was setting up.
Everyone else's site was still occupied (checkout is 2pm) except for Blabbermouth's. Michael, the guy left while I was setting up so your site is ready for you to show up.
Lots to get done this week at home but I am looking forward to our time together at Gulf.
