Construction projects for the gondola have already begun. It is happening.
Don't expect buses to continue running routes serviced by the gondola.
Disagree. I fully expect there to be buses running..
Wilderness Lodge: Boat and Bus
Contemporary: Monorail and Walkway
Polynesian: Monorail, Boat and Bus when monorail off
Grand Floridian: Monorail, Boat and Bus when monorail off
All of these have two options when one of the options may fall into a "safety" issue for guests. Many are afraid of heights or water. POP may not run buses with regularity all day long but during busier times they will have to. Between CBR, POP and AoA ... the numbers just can support it as the single option. If they force all folks on these, they will find guests (myself included) will be driving to the parks.
But there will be multiple gondola cars on the line, meaning the hourly capacity will be 2000-3000, depending on the type of car/system used.
2000-3000 per hour? Just POP, AoA and CBR can hold over 25,000+ guests before the CBR tower is built. If we divide by 4 parks but if guests are traveling to DHS or EPCOT ... you could be looking at 12,000 trying to get to those parks especially once DHS has new lands. That means it will take hours to get those folks transported? It is really how this will all get built, will AoA and POP have to share a station, then travel to CBR and change gondolas to go to Epcot or will there be four lovely wires up there with dedicated to and from to both parks? I'm not sitting here crunching numbers but at a glance, based on your capacity they will certainly have to keep the bus option.
