Yes definitely! I just really want to lay my head (and body) on a new mattress! LOL
I read some reviews on how the old rooms are so dirty and the rugs all stained and gross. And I just hate to pay the same amount for an old, dirty room.
I have stayed at Pop 20+ times and this has never been my experience. Yes, the refurbished rooms are fresh and have some perks (pardon the pun! ) but when I arrive in Jan I’ll just be happy to be back at Disney and Pop, regardless what room I get.
I was trying of a nice way to say this same thing.I have never experienced that at Pop.
This is so very true. With the rumors that they will be getting rid of tiered prices and the new rooms and gondolas, I see this inching closer to mod prices. The all stars next on the list for upgrades and if they get their own buses, guess they wont be cheap either.Around 30 stays and have never had a room that was in disrepair, stained, dirty or poor shape. Not new, but always clean and the white duvets went a long way in keeping the rooms feeling fresh. I've always been surprised the walls were not marked up so I guess they regularly do touch ups.
At this point, if someone will only be happy with a new room and disappointed with an old room .......... I would just stay somewhere else. And if the point is they cost the same ............ I'm looking at it this way, the new rooms are right now costing the same as the old rooms price point but once this whole thing is done I think we can expect that all the prices will jump up there, especially when sky buckets open.

And I agree, even the older rooms are fresh and clean every time i have stayed. I don't know of any hotel that I have stayed at that hasn't had a stain or two on the carpet, but with the complaints of the dirty laminate floors, i don't see that as a bonus either. I find it almost laughable that prices will go up just because the rooms now have coffee pots and the gondolas. I have a friend who stays at the deluxes and still packs her portable kureg. I would hate to pay 20 or 40 more just for a coffee pot that I will never use.
True. I just did the math and decided to join DVC as it seems more ecinomical for me. I've only been when the free dining has been happening so I see that going away soon and the discounts on room only are not that great on values, and there are rarely any discounts on tickets so... For me best choice.Don't drink coffee and have no intention of getting on a Disney gondola ... Disney monorail evac record isn't good.
NOW I do love the very comfy queen beds! But if price goes up I can get that and more offsite for less.
I wouldn’t go so far as to stay somewhere else. I’m just really hoping for a new room.Around 30 stays and have never had a room that was in disrepair, stained, dirty or poor shape. Awesome! Enjoy!Guys I have a new room in building 10
Was it on TripAdvisor? I saw a pretty bad review on there yesterday with pictures of the bathroom mold and stains on the carpet.I wouldn’t go so far as to stay somewhere else. I’m just really hoping for a new room.
I will be disappointed if I don’t get one. But I won’t be devastated.
I saw pics someone posted on a travel review site. They posted pics of mildewed tile in the shower and stains on the carpet.
I’ve never felt it was dirty at Pop myself (I skeeve all hotel carpeting though) but I haven’t been in a few years. My last Disney trip was Disneyland.
Yes, that was it! I was checking for info regarding current renovations and came across that. Was it on TripAdvisor? I saw a pretty bad review on there yesterday with pictures of the bathroom mold and stains on the carpet.
I check TripAdvisor every day. I like seeing what the overall opinion is on stuff at Disney, but I also like reading posts from people who don't know what they're talking about.Yes, that was it! I was checking for info regarding current renovations and came across that.
Yay!Guys I have a new room in building 10
I too just got back from staying at POP (10/25-10/30)-room 8334. I also choose to not have housekeeping-since I was alone I figured I wouldn't make a mess. I feel your review is spot on (except the bed-but I'm 6ft so my feet hit the floor).I declined housekeeping (only there late Saturday to early Tuesday) and that's actually common for me to do so the gift card was a bonus plus I could see if the new floors really did cause more of a cleanliness issue. Since I was only there three nights I got $20 which I applied back to my room charges on my last evening.
All in all I liked the look of the rooms (and I think it fits in very well with the Pop Culture theme of the resort) and found it to have more pros then cons. I don't think the new rooms will make this my go-to resort but I will be more likely to consider it in the future especially once they get the resort done and there is not the random lottery aspect to getting a renovated room.
.
That's GREAT to hear! That's the first notice that it's all blocked off. THANK YOU! Enjoy your stay!Just arrived yesterday! Had a room in the 50s building 2. Asked for a renovated room and got building 10.
Do we know that building 6 is blocked off? Sorry haven't been able to keep up . I took a pic with my phone, but it says it's too large. But it is all blocked off
