OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON & NEW YEAR'S 2017 THREAD

We will be in Disneyland 1 week from today! So excited!!

Question for many of you California regulars... if you had the chance to see a live taping (Jimmy Kimmel), would you take time away from Disney to do that??
I personally would not, but it depends. Have you been to DL recently? Are you going back again soon? What are your goals to get done in the parks? Our family has days off and we do DTD and KBF but we do 5 full park days and I’d give up a day off before I’d give up one Park day (we go yearly). But if I could go more often or didn’t feel like I wanted to do every ride I’d consider going (late night talk shows aren’t my thing but his show seems pretty fun)

The Christmas popcorn bucket is amazing.

I think they're like $11-$13 and then refills are around $1.50
WDW offers refills, but so far DLR has not offered discounted refills to the general public. My guess is that it'll cost $15 (similar to the HalloweenTime buckets with Oogie Boogie or Pumpkin Mickey).

I would check what is filming. We are going the first week of Dec and hope to go to a live taping of Roseanne, if not that we will probably go to Mom. We have standby tickets for Big Bang theiroy already.

We actually already have tickets for Jimmy Kimmel Live for that night- I didn't think we'd get them, so I was excited to get that email! It did put a wrench in my planning though! I think we are just going to rearrange our schedule to add this in the middle.

I would go. I love live tapings, I have only been to one and that was Wil and Grace years ago.

Gingerbread Workshop tickets are now on sale. Please check page 1 for the link.

I love seeing everyone’s plans and getting the reservations all squared away!

I’m wondering if I should make more? I thought about Carthay Circle because I LOVE it but I don’t know about taking the kids...

So far we plan on getting to GCH early on the 12/15. Fingers crossed that are rooms are ready early or that they’ll let us use the CL lounge beforehand.

12/15: Hubby and son to see StarWars at the AMC theater and my daughter and I have reservations at Ariel’s Grotto for early dinner. I also went ahead and booked the WOC Dessert Party for our first night. Hoping the kids won’t be too exhausted. But I’m not making them get up for EMH the next morning so hopefully they’ll sleep in a little.

12/16: Our day will start at Plaza Inn for Breakfast with Minnie at 9am. And then....eeeeekkkkkk.....our tour guide is going to meet us outside of restaurant to begin our tour! Don’t want to make sit down lunch reservations due to the tour, so we’ll do CS. Our tour will end with seats for Christmas parade. Not sure what we’ll do afterwards....but I’m thinking hotel break and room service for dinner? We’ll head back for our VIP seats for Fantasmic!

12/17: breakfast with Santa at Catal resturaunt at 11:00am. I’ll let husband go watch football for a little bit at ESPN while I take the kids into the park. I have no other reservations that day....??

12/18: thinking about some breakfast reservations before we go home??

Wow your schedule sounds a lot like mine other than staying CL since we are doing Concierge on our DCL cruise next month. YIPPEE. :santa:

11/22 We are arriving at GCH early (~8:30am we are in No. Calif and plane lands at 7:00am) and doing the CA park then meeting up with our guide for the Holiday VIP tour which ends with seats for the parade
11/23 Thanksgiving! No plans other than the park and Thanksgiving dinner at Storytellers Cafe'
11/24 Parks and in the evening we have tickets for the WOC Dessert party
11/25 Late Breakfast with Chip N Dale and we leave at 3pm

I was lucky enough to get all the dining reservations I was hoping for! We are booked for WOC desert party on Jan 3rd, Rainforest Cafe for lunch on Jan 4th (kids' request - I personally would rather spend the $$$ elsewhere, but they love this place) and Fantasmic premium dining at RBT on Jan 6th. I'm not sure what to expect from RBT as the Fantasmic dining thread has varying reviews about the viewing from there, but my 6 year old (with mild special needs) would never last in a crowd, sitting on the floor so if we want to see the show, this is really the only option! I'm starting to have sticker shock - we are on a 2 week Hawaii cruise prior to our 3 days in Disney and the Disney costs are starting to add up to be as much as the two week cruise! Yikes!

I think over the summer they had a refill promotion going for Annual Pass holders but not for non passholders. So its true that Disneyland does not have the refills. I wish they would get on board like other parks. Even universal has it.

They've had a few promos like that for APs this year. The last one was purchase the special AP seasonal bucket ($15) by the end of September and refills were $1 through October 31. We haven't heard anything yet about a winter holiday one, though. Not that I've seen pop up on the Facebook page at least.

Universal's refills last I was there were only day of as I recall (I hated having to constantly pull out my receipt). WDW's are "length of trip", yes?

It would be nice if they offered it to others besides APs at DLR, but I do like how it feels a lot more simple than other parks I've done refills. No receipt to show and it's usually good for a couple months rather than a single vacation.

So does Santa stay around after Christmas, or does Santa Goofy take his place? Wondering for parade and meet and greets.

I ready that the big guy is there until mid month and then Goofy takes over. This was in DCA
