I love credit cards so much!

35 minutes on recon, still declined. They said not long enough time since the oldest credit card was opened, and not enough cards that I (she) is responsible for paying.
Oh well. Moving on :-)
Woah...you can't move on now, the next step is to call back, get angry, insult the rep, yell a bit and get a permanent note put on your account and name that says this person is CRAZY!!! Haha! Just Kidding, sometimes you just have to move on, can't win them all! And it's better to move on respectfully like I'm sure you did! Better luck next time!

Yes, totally respectfully, especially since I was trying to sound like an almost 22 year old college student :-)

find your oldest 2 cards and add ur DD as AU. maybe the aoa would pass over to her credit report.

try again when it takes effect.

Perhaps this would help in the future: http://www.businessinsider.com/origin-of-popular-millennial-phrases-and-words-2016-4

Basically, like...your card in on fleek! It would let me and Bae go out on the town, live it up like I'm the G.O.A.T., get a little turnt. If you approve me I'll be dabbing but don't be throwing shade and denying me now...YASSS!
LOL, so many of those words I hate! She, thank goodness, doesn't use any of those words!!! Maybe on occasional Yas :-)

She is already on two of my older cards. Sounded like they wanted older cards that she is cardholder and not AU on.

My first card 20 years ago when I graduated high school was a discover. You might look into that just to help her build credit in her own name. If you can get the 5% with them paying another 5% your first year it could be worth it for the gift cards or statement credits.

Thanks for reporting back. It's interesting that Chase gave her one card with presumably less of a credit history but obviously there's a different standard for the CSP.

I probably need to suggest to my kids that they open a few more accounts - I'm pretty sure they each only have one in their own names, which apparently is going to be a problem if they want to apply for a card like the CSP in the near future.

She does currently have 3 cards of her own, Target, Capital One Quicksilver and Chase Disney. She gets a few offers a week in the mail. This was more about me wanting some points on a big purchase without using my own card slots up.
Do you find Discover as readily accepted as Visa/MC? I have never had one.

Which I always find funny because that was the card I had to "fight" for when I got it. Now who knows what points in time we are talking about but when I applied it was for their Student Discover. I think I was a sophomore starting to get my credit together so I was 18 or 19 but had a good paying job considering I was doing college full time. I got denied for not having enough credit history... well duh I thought that's why I was applying for a student card so y'all would know that? At the time, despite the fact that they peppered the school everywhere with applications, they didn't count community college as college. Really? So after I got my denial letter (yep, paper application, hehe) I argued on the phone with the rep those points and she put me on hold then comes back and says, like a parent to a child, "well... I'll approve you for the regular discover and we'll see how that goes". I'm still speechless to this day on how to respond to that :) Funnily enough it is now my oldest open card because I've since cancelled the two other student cards I opened a few months before that. So I guess we know how that went!

But I'm glad they've gotten better at approvals, maybe I'll see if hubby can get one now. With the change to cashback earning and the first year bonus, they're actually a pretty good card to pick up.

Walmart orders for Chase 10x were going swimmingly. Until now. Netflix order cancelled. Twice. Darn! I knew my luck would run out eventually.

Does Chase clawback bonus points like AMEX? I'm returning some wedding leftovers and I see one was on my Marriott card... I was fine for the $3k spend I originally signed up for, but when I pushed for the $5k/100k points I only ended at $5016 and this return would put me just under. .

instant cancellation? do a chat with Walmart. there's something on their end that flags your orders to automatic cancellation... I had the same issue, saw that messaging them would help. my order passes successfully after asking Walmart for help.

another way I've read was to order physical cards and not e-cards.

Did this and they said something about needing verification and they've cleared it and to try again in an hour. Think I'll give it a couple just in case. And it was e-card. The orders I previously put through successfully contained e-gift cards and physical cards!

Idk. Could you get the store to issue a store credit?

Win for the day: I found a Best Buy that sells VCGs. Purchased 2x $200 to max out the Chase Pay 10x deal. (Although to really maximize it, I should have asked for $194.05 on each card.)

@pillow was right -- my Best Buy had them hidden right next to the registers with the backside of the packaging facing the customer. Kind of sad that I recognized what they were immediately? I grabbed two, but noticed the packaging had already been peeled to expose the barcodes. I had to ask the cashier for two fresh VCGs just in case. Rest of the purchase went smoothly.

I only use it now where that quarters categories are but even 20 years ago as a college freshman I don't remember anywhere that I wanted to use it that I couldn't. I didn't have a visa/mc other than my debit until I was a junior.

Mine was the reg and I've no idea what was put down for anything since I think my mom did it for me cause she wanted me to start building more credit. I'd had a savings account forever and had been working 2 yrs at 6/hr which was over min wage back then so maybe that all helped. I don't know.
