Which I always find funny because that was the card I had to "fight" for when I got it. Now who knows what points in time we are talking about but when I applied it was for their Student Discover. I think I was a sophomore starting to get my credit together so I was 18 or 19 but had a good paying job considering I was doing college full time. I got denied for not having enough credit history... well duh I thought that's why I was applying for a student card so y'all would know that? At the time, despite the fact that they peppered the school everywhere with applications, they didn't count community college as college. Really? So after I got my denial letter (yep, paper application, hehe) I argued on the phone with the rep those points and she put me on hold then comes back and says, like a parent to a child, "well... I'll approve you for the regular discover and we'll see how that goes". I'm still speechless to this day on how to respond to that
Funnily enough it is now my oldest open card because I've since cancelled the two other student cards I opened a few months before that. So I guess we know how that went!
But I'm glad they've gotten better at approvals, maybe I'll see if hubby can get one now. With the change to cashback earning and the first year bonus, they're actually a pretty good card to pick up.
