What Do You Wear on the Plane?

Ok, I am WAY overthinking this but I leave Friday and I can't figure out what I want to wear on arrival day! It's snowy and cold in New York; lovely in Orlando, plus, we are hitting the parks when we arrive. I guess I can change. I also am struggling because I'm traveling ~in more style~ then usual and I'd like to look nice.

More just looking to discuss as opposed to for actual ideas, but what is everyone's go-to type of outfit on the trip over?

I like to be as comfy as possible- so I'd probably wear leggings and a sweater dress or comfortable jeans and an oversized sweater. I've done a lot of traveling between NY and Orlando (the only two places I've ever lived).. so I'd use my winter coat as a blanket on the plane and have something lighter underneath.

I usually wear the same thing, white J Crew destressed buttion long sleeve shirt, doesn't show the wrinkles as much, and Hilfiger jeans. And we don't bring coats. They stay in the car at the airport up north. It's cold but we walk fast.

Lately I’m loving blanket scarves for traveling. I don’t bring a coat, but bundling up with a cozy scarf works well, and I can use it as a blanket if I’m chilly in the airport or on the plane. It also doubles as a pillow if I bunch it up.

Long pants (a little big for me, with pockets), the biggest/heaviest shoes I'm taking on the trip (so I don't have to pack them), long-sleeved blouse (with a pocket). Add warm jacket (lots of pockets), socks (not stockings) and I'm good to go.

We went last week and had the same issue. I wore black leggings, Picko shirt, a large sweater scarf/ wrap and my Tieks. I was super comfortable on the plane and just left the wrap in the room once we got there. Even when it was in the high seventies last week it still wasn’t real hot. The humidity was not there as compared to the summer.

I wear comfy stretchy pants, with compression stockings underneath. I don't have a winter coat per se, but a fleece jacket and a raincoat/shell. I am often cold on planes, so I take the fleece on the plane and stuff the shell in my carryon. I bring a change of clothes and change in the airport restroom while waiting for the luggage.

Combination of comfort and practicality, and it depends where we're going. When we're off on vacation it's usually from a cold place to a warm place - you can't really head to the airport in shorts and flip-flops when it's miserable outside :p . I definitely have a go-to outfit; capri-length yoga pants, a tank top and a fleece hoodie. On rare occasions for work travel when I have to be dressed for a meeting upon arrival I have a reasonably comfy pair of skinny pants, a simple collared shirt and put a smart blazer over top.
Definitely gonna leave my winter coat in the car! I'm thinking of a maxi dress and cardigan and then a change to something more disney inspired when I get to the hotel!

Now just to figure out shoes...
Ha! :teeth: I always try to wear my heaviest pair to save weight in my luggage. In my case it's a pair of chunky, platform sandals that I actually get a ton of wear out of on holidays. I also usually throw a pair of socks into my purse so I can kick the shoes off and keep my feet comfortably covered during a long flight (especially if I plan to sleep).

January last year it was snowing where we took off from... we wore sweatshirts and such cause planes are decently chilly as well. Got into Orlando and it was 80 and sunny. We packed a change of clothes in our carry-on's and changed at the resort. It was nice to have athletic shorts and get a new tshirt out to put on after the plane ride.

In general, I go for comfort but with practical shoes (so no sandals or flip flops), just in case. It's the one safety tip I follow.
When we went to Disney last January, I wore jeans and a t-shirt with a hoodie over, and tennis shoes. I was fine with just eliminating the hoodie when we arrived; but, I did pack a pair of capris and flip flops in my carry-on in case it was too warm for those at arrival.

I always plan to leave my winter coat in the car but the last time I flew my daughter drove me to the airport and I forgot to take it off. Luckily, my son-in-law works at the airport and stopped by to say goodbye and was able to take it for me. I wear comfortable, but not sloppy, shirt, pants, sneakers, socks and a sweater or light jacket. I have shorts and short-sleeved shirt in my carry-on to change into when I land in Orlando.

When shuttling between the frigid north and sunny Florida I tend to wear slacks/khakis, a sweater or something similar, and a t-shirt underneath. If it's warm enough when I reach FL (last time, it was not) I take the sweater off.

We generally go ahead and dress for Florida weather even though we might look silly with shorts/capris in the cold at home and just throw a jacket or sweatshirt on that can easily be taken off and put into our carry on bag when we land.

Maybe it's just a guy thing...I don't care what I wear on the plane. If it's cold out, I'll wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt. If it's hot, I'll wear shorts and a t-shirt. If the weather at my destination is opposite, I'll change in the airport. Takes all of 3 minutes.

I do the same! It's also handy for covering my head/face if I'm trying to sleep when it's bright on the plane. I also try to wear easy on/off shoes like Toms to make going through security a little easier.
