I love credit cards so much!

Ok I keep seeing and missing the fantastic MR offers everywhere(amazon:scared: what are the amex 'rules'? no more than 5 cards, but this can't include AU cards(?) since I currently have 6 on my acct page(2 AU)..... I need a MR earning card just for those deals! am I disqualified?

The 5 card limit applies only to Amex credit cards. Not charge cards. There are no limits to how many Amex charge cards you can hold at a time. (But keep in mind Amex has an algorithm now that considers the ongoing spend you’re putting on existing cards in deciding whether you qualify for the welcome bonus when applying for a new card.)

The PRG is a charge card that earns MR. (There are credit cards that also earn MR.) However, only apply for the PRG if you can pull a 50k MR offer (either $1k or $2k in 3 months MSR), since Amex welcome offers are generally once per lifetime per card product. Another thing to consider is that going for the PRG first will lessen your chances of getting targeted for, or pulling the 100k MR Platinum offer if you haven’t done so already.

Since these are both business cards, they don't count against 5/24 correct? So I could get one, complete it, and then get the other? Or should I apply for both on the same day?
Yes they don’t count against 5/24...but you have to be under to get approved....don’t apply on the same day...get one...then about 3 month later apply for the other

Oh and in case you all missed this I thought it was interesting.

Good post because it lists the other airports where they have added restaurants to the airport for Priority Pass recently. I am excited to try it in SLC. Of course the girls will still want McDonalds (and thanks to Grandma they know just what they want to order) but it will be nice for the adults!

I noticed Priority Pass added P.F. Chang’s at LAX, too!

Shhhh! Don't tell anyone you prefer standard rooms! I am always assigned almost the same room probably because of something in my profile such as 'likes to be ALL the way down by the tennis courts!"

The times I've booked a Boardwalk View, the walk killed me,(Standard is right by the bus stops and the back door closest to DHS plus cut across up to the front to get to Epcot, plus the closest to where I parked my vehicle) the maid threw out my lunch, the maid threw out my sunglasses. But the view was wonderful for the 2 minutes I actually spent on the little blocked balcony.

I always request those stand view rooms as well...my husband hates the walk...but I love them

Always recon after a denial. There's always a chance - even if it's not very large - to get your application approved. Especially because you received a call, it makes me think it's possible there's just something they're seeing they need verification for, and maybe you'll be lucky and be approved once that's cleared. I would definitely call them back.

Thanks for the advice! I called this morning and I was asked a few questions regarding my "business" and the person I talked to said it should be fine, but it was still subject to approval for my credit score, etc, and that I should find out by tomorrow. So not approved yet but at least there's some hope! Fingers crossed!

Also, a few pages behind but wanted to give a DP for RMN - went to Kohl's over lunch and spent exactly $20 (before tax) on kid's clothes, and got a notification that my $10 is pending before leaving the store! I also went to Academy yesterday to get DS7 a fishing pole that he's been requesting for like a month, and got a pending message from there also! I did ask if they had giftcards other than Academy there but they don't. Really wish we had Staples here in Wichita so I could use the $10 combined with my Amex offer, but we don't and the closest is KC.

Finally caught up (again). Obviously like everyone else I'm not happy about not being able to use URs @ 1.5 for Disney. This has been my ONLY redemption for my URs since I started earning them. The only ray of sunshine for me is if I cash them out instead I'll be able to book my own trips as a TA and get commission, plus I can use GC to pay. As long as I get the GC with cash back/points back/discounts, I should be able to come somewhat close to my UR redemptions.

Would love some Dischurners insight into my SW CP plans for 2019-2020. I know several of you chimed in when I asked about this a few weeks back. I'm trying to work out timing on getting the Premier and the Biz card. Here's my 24 month breakdown:
09/29/16 1/24 - Amex BCE
01/05/17 2/24 - CSR
02/15/17 3/24 - Disney Visa
07/06/17 X/24 - CIP
10/17/17 4/24 - Marriott Personal
12/26/17 X/24 - SPG Biz
05/08/18 X/24 - CIC
So by my calculations I'm 4/24 and 0/30 with Chase. By next month I'll be 3/24. I want to do the in-flight offer for the Premier to get the 50K offer. I'm flying out on 10/4 and flying back on 10/9, so I think I'll wait until the return flight to apply. I'll just pace myself a lot with the MSR so my bonus doesn't post until January. This card will put me back at 4/24 so I should still be safe to go for the Biz later. I should be safe if I wait until November to apply for the Biz, right? Or maybe I'll wait until December just in case.

I'm also weighing out whether or not I should keep my CIP. Now that I have the CIC and 3x via Plastiq for mortgages is dead, I don't really see a need for this card. Thoughts?

Since you want the CIP for 2019 and 2020 you definitely can wait until December or even January to apply for the SW business to put 2-3 months between your applications

I’m pretty sure I will cancel my CIP next May.....if I have the CIC by the....the only things I’ve been putting on it since getting the CSR are eBay fees, postage, phone and cable....I’d switch them to the CIC if approved

Thanks for the DP on Kohl's, I meant to ask about this earlier. I want to buy some new tennis shoes and will use it for that.

Ha, funny you should bring this up. Last week, we were given the first room right off the elevators. Yeah, no! I hate being there, soooooooooooo much noise from the DME luggage carts and beeping trucks. So the next day they moved us to the 2nd to the last room in the resort LOL. I knew we would end up as far to the end as possible when we asked to move. It was really nice though. Seems like a horrible walk, but I measured it, it was only .13 miles. We are fine with the extra walk though, and it's great for going to DHS. Although walking there was a major pain on this trip!

Going to go there and add what may or may not be obvious: DVC has artificially held it's value. I bought at 56.75 a point and could sell easily at $112 a point. Yes, I know that's less than the going rate, but at that price point I'd have a buyer in minutes and DVC would jump in and 'take' the points in a right of first refusal clause that they have put in every contract which keeps values way up there so people do not get many bargain contracts - in my opinion! So, I would basically get my money back, and just have paid dues for all my fun visits. Dues are the real cost to DVC. Check dues history for the resorts. You can find this on the DVC boards stickies.

Well goodness. That sounds like a good college savings account for my kids. Hmmn, wonder what the cost will be in 8, 10, and 16 years...

How much longer is it now....noticed on the maps it looks like we have to walk around the temporary bus stops

I’m a first time poster on this thread, so I’m sorry if I’m hijacking! I just figured y’all would be the best people to ask!

I’m looking for a good balance transfer card. My current Discover It card’s promo will be up in November and I want to transfer my remaining debt to a no-frills card purely to pay it off. Any recommendations?

This is an amazing revamp of this card. I always thought the PRG should be better than it was, as at $195 AF it's not quite a no brainer keeper. But now it may very well be. $120 dining + $100 airline completely offsets the AF by itself, and now 4x at restaurants and supermarket? That's pretty awesome.
Do you guys think this is better than using CSR for restaurants?

Depends on your goals. How much do you value the versatility of URs? There unfortunately is no MR portal equivalent to Chase's UR portal. Also, there are no hotel transfers. But MRs are good for flights, and direct redemption into Schwab.

If you consider 4x MR back on restaurants with the PRG, and redeem at 1.25cpp into Schwab, that's a 5% return. You'd be hard pressed to find something better than that, except maybe the Uber card (4% dining) because it doesn't have an annual fee.

It's a bit longer, but it's hotter than Hades! No shade, and walls blocking the breeze. And at night after the SW fireworks, you cannot walk, the value resort bus stops are the last ones, and sooooooooo many people are getting to/waiting for those busses, that it's total gridlock. It was terrible! After Fantasmic it wasn't quite as bad. The first part of the walk is bad too, because the people going to the parking trams are also walking in the walled in area with the bus riders and the path walkers.

Appreciate the update...we will be there next week.....our late night is Wednesday....for the DVC event that’s after hours so hopefully we will be ok walking back then...
my son lives there and has mentioned this September has been hotter than usual....ugh...we usually go in October but wanted to be down there for his birthday this year.

i know the Freedom also has a promo on balance transfers but i think its still a 3% transfer fee.
The other card is the Slate card, but i recall they set a limit on how much u can balance transfer in now.

those are the only 2 cards i know.

ironcially, none of these card listed on the top best --> https://creditcards.usnews.com/balance-transfer
