Can anyone give me some advice on what to do with DH's mess up of the Ebates sign up? If we can't get the right account he's refusing to use it. :(

Two ideas.

1. Delete DH’s Ebates account and start a new one, perhaps using a different email address. https://deletewebs.com/how-to-delete-ebate-account/

Or,

2. Go into the account settings for DH’s first account, and there should be an option to change the name, email, address, PayPal account, etc., and change the account over from DH to you. Once that’s done, maybe DH can set up a new Ebates account using a different email address.

I’m thinking that setting up a new account under a new email address will hopefully avoid raising flags that this is a duplicate account. You’d also want to delete the old account or change over the info in the old account so it doesn’t look like the new account is a duplicate of the old account.

Be sure to sign up for a new account from the direct link on DoC. It’ll prompt you to log into your (or DH’s) Amex account that has your (or DH’s) MR-earning personal cards. This program only works if you have an eligible MR-earning personal card (like DH’s Plat) and Ebates will check for that and deposit earned MRs to that account after every quarter.

For those who did the PNC bonus this year, did you get a 1099? I should have gotten one but haven't. DH is ready to file our taxes but was wanting the TIN. I found one listed on Reddit from last year but not sure if it's accurate. I could call them but hoping to file this weekend. Of course I closed my account this week so can't log in to check.

And, after going to the car and getting my readers I opened the app again and saw the gift card promo good until 2/26.

Sometimes I think these promos are a bit discriminatory against the elderly or sight impaired. For instance, Target makes you put in a code to use a gift card to pay. Even with readers I can't read the code. So I have to stand in the long line to check out or go to self checkout and hope someone random helps me by reading me the numbers such as yesterday. I hate it. And, in my Target don't expect the person watching self checkout to come help you unless you do the nudge to disengage them from chatting with other employees or their friends.

I agree with this. Also not very fair to the poor either if you have to have a smartphone to get the app to get the discount to begin with.

I bought a Crock Pot pressure cooker today at Kohl's ($50 cheaper than Instant Pot) - I used my Kohl's pay to get the 20% + $10 off $50 coupon and at the register you have to scan a QR code on the check out screen through the app and wait for it to validate on the clerk's screen. Not very intuitive (or fast) and you had to understand how to jump through a lot of hoops to get the sale.

Now the issue is I have to actually learn how to use this pressure cooker and not be terrified of it!

Also, another question please. DH got his Arrival Plus bonus, and we redeemed it for a statement credit for a LMT charge we had for DL tickets. But, so far his balance isn't showing the credit. Does anyone have any experience with using this credit? Does it just take some time? His payment isn't due till March so we can wait and see if it posts, but just curious. Should I have handled this differently?

Ha, I still have the Insta Pot that I “had to have” in the Amazon box unopened. One day I might open it :)

Did the tickets code as a travel charge? If so, and they did last summer, you can go into the rewards tab and click to redeem for travel. You should be able to choose the purchase that qualifies.

Most of us are still trying to space out Chase business cards by 2-3 months. If you’re getting cards across multiple issuers you can move faster. Your plan looks good - just make sure you familiarize yourself with AMEX’s new approach. You’ll want to continue to spend on that Delta card beyond the MSR so they keep approving you for future cards.

On biz cards you can add employee cards without affecting personal credit or 5/24 status.

Thanks. Applied for the CIP using my wife's CIP referral. Got the "we need more time" response. Bummer, as I cut my credit limit on several cards substantially a couple months ago. I did get a new Ink Cash card in Nov/Dec.

I used mine a few times but it doesn’t get much use. I went back to my crock pot which I use all the time.

I've owned 3 crock pots all given to me as gifts and have never cooked in one. Younger darling daughter did use one of them to make a pulled chicken dish that you use for sandwiches a few times.

Older DD bought the insta pot but I haven't seen her use it.

And going back a bit I had to have the copper all clad pot set. It's in its wooden box in the basement now as it's just too difficult to keep looking nice.

All these kitchen gadgets draw me right in.

I only use my crockpots a couple of times a year and that’s typically just to keep food warm for parties or the holidays.

I have a whole drawer full of gadgets. A zested, for what? A watermelon slicer that won’t even go through it. My best gadget investment was a pineapple slicer/corer. Now that thing works magic. Cut the top off and turn, turn, turn. Pineapple is sliced and cored! Boom!

Did you check the automated status line: 1-800-432-3117, then hit #, 3, 1 - let us know what that says. Anything other than 7-10 days is a good sign!

What is a good age for LL? I think we may have missed the window.
I think you are close. We went two years in a row when my kids were between 7-11. I think most say the sweet spot is 7-10. Our kids were huge into Legos so just seeing all the displays was pretty cool. All the kids enjoyed the rides and it was so nice to be able to say yes when they wanted to ride again.

This one I got is a crock pot too (duh, it's crock pot brand, lol) but I won't give up my big Crock Pot. Got it for a wedding gift all those years ago. Use it all the time. I figure with the pressure cooker and giant crock pot I can really cook a lot of things at once. This should help with meal prep. Our food budget has gotten out of control and we both need to eat better. So I'm trying to reign us in.

I just read the entire product manual for this pressure cooker. I may make DH set it up. I don't want to blow up the house!

I use the Arrival+ a lot - but the rewards do seem to post slowly. But they will post.

Also, when you make an early payment to Barclay's it doesn't just make your balance smaller. It sort of adds the amount you paid to the current balance but it all works out when the payment due date rolls around. It's bizarro town.
