Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We just returned from GF SL and I agree that the staff has not been as outgoing, friendly or engaging as in years past. Simple hellos, smiles, and small talk does go a long way to making you/family feel welcomed like no other place can. SL GF concierge staff appeared busy all week during our trip doing a lot of admin tasks, at the expense of being attentive to the lobby / guests. In the past few years we've stayed at GF SL, we would be able to make / change hard-to-get dining reservations or fast passes, and all "asks" during our trip were looked into but met with a sorry it is unavailable. We also used to get an extra anytime fast pass occasionally, and it seems the staff are no longer allowed with the new option to buy add'l CL fast passes, which we are not doing. I'm sorry but for an extra $100 - 200 a night, spending more money for rides seems crazy. What do y'all use CL concierge service for common requests? And where is the in-room towel characters??? C'mon Disney, the little things keeps us coming back.

We haven’t stayed SL so I can’t comment on them specifically. We prefer YC CL & stayed there twice this year. We always got the smiles & greetings as we got off the elevator. However, I don’t bother having the CMs change anything for me when I can just as easily do it myself in MDE. I’d rather decide myself if the timing works for us. We have stayed club level for over 15 years & I have never known them to be able to get anything that was unavailable to everyone else. I haven’t ever had them just hand out fastpasses to me either, even before paid fastpasses were a thing. Towel animals have been cut back resort wide for several years.

Personally, I book CL coz we prefer the secure floor, we know where our room will be, we like the convenient breakfast & evening food options. I don’t expect to be constantly sprinkled with extras. Maybe we’re the odd ones but we don’t want CMs fawning over us as we come & go or while we’re in the lounge.

The club level cut back that does annoy me a lot is cutting back on the curbside greeting & making us do check in at the regular lobby desk. Private check in has been an advertised benefit of club level as long as I can remember. Extra pixie dust hasn’t.

Had a quick but enjoyable visit to YC CL this past weekend. We've had a few recent stays there (since July 2018) and things were substantially similar in nearly every respect.
  • No arrival greeting, although that has been the norm in our YC visits.
  • We received the room ready text and app notice hours earlier before even arriving in Orlando - for the first time in forever our MagicBands actually worked on the elevator upon arrival! A YC miracle. We've had more MB issues in the past at YC than the other resorts, for whatever reason.
  • Busy weekend so we weren't really around the lounge all that much. In fact, I arguably shouldn't have booked CL when I think back about our weekend, but that was my fault.
  • We've tended to find the desk CMs at YC very warm and welcoming, it was great to see familiar faces. Like many CLs, lounge CMs seem overworked and always busy, but in fairness I was barely in the lounge this trip so perhaps not a valid comment.
Booked a Standard Room view category, did not submit any requests. Our room was the one shaded yellow below. About half way "down the hall" from the lounge relatively speaking. Our room had 2 Queens and a Day Bed.

A welcome note and two waters were in the room upon arrival, this was new to us for YC.

The Standard View rooms don't provide the best views in the world, but not terrible either. That's the main resort entrance below.

Not sure if I realized they didn't remove all of the tubs in the renovation, but this room still had a tub. Good if you have little ones.

YC is one of the CLs where you can still access most of the lounge overnight. This was 12:30am Saturday, still plenty of sodas in the fridge. The Nespresso machine that is just to the right of this is turned off / not available overnight.

Always warm and welcoming:

Ice cream and Olaf Bars in the fridge all day.

The fire marshal occupancy of the lounge is 75, if you were ever curious. Don't do the math comparing that to the possible CL guest count. :-)

That’s a nice view for a standard room. Glad to see they have returned some water to the rooms. And I definitely love the sign listing the loung offerings. It would be great to know in the morning if you want to be back for appetizers or not. Thanks for the intel!! :goodvibes

Did they change the carpet in the lounge? The old one was very yucky :(

You know, I was wondering the same thing when there. In Feb I remember thinking (and might have noted around here) that it was getting pretty grungy looking - food stains and such. There were no notable stains or dirty areas this time. Although in looking at pics, it looks the same carpet. Must have just had a good deep cleaning though, maybe?

Well, it happened. We got our first ever free upgrade to club last week for our single night stay at boardwalk. Upgraded from standard water view room to a club level deluxe room. Now all I have left complete the club levels is AKL! (well I have to stay RPC and tower club too I guess, though at least I've done the other CLs at those resorts). It was supposed to be a "Bargain" trip with three nights standard view Yacht, and one night all-stars at the beginning since we were getting in after 1am... but when Star Wars AP preview was announced I changed our flights so we could make the last day and changed all-star night to boardwalk so we could walk. It was SO HARD to leave the gorgeous club lounge and go to yacht club, ha ha.

We haven't done these, but they sure do look nice!

We did a full day rental last Friday. We were in Cabana #2 according to your pics above, which was great and easy to watch the kids in the sandy shallow pool. Well worth it, we would do it again. I didn't request that cabana but if we do it again I probably will.

We are here at CR now and the staff is the best. So nice and friendly and helpful without feeling intrusive at all. The food here is fine. Nothing terribly unique or amazing, but what they have is tasty and replenished quickly. The little chocolate banana cake desserts last night were fantastic! They do not make signature lounge drinks anymore according to the staff last night. My husband and I (and our own kids) have been entertained by some behaviors all week lol... kids screaming, running, jumping on the couches, parents shouting across the room, adults in robes and pj’s... it’s just been entertaining to say the least. There are more kids in this lounge than the others we’ve tried, so that could have something to do with it. No lotion in the room. I know this isn’t that thread, but thought I’d mention it anyway. They’ve been generously replenishing the other H2O products and we’ve had turndown every night. The parks have been pretty empty this week compared to what we are used to. So far, so good!

You’re not odd in my opinion. I don’t stay Club Level to spend my time engaging with staff. I stay there to have the service it offers.

I’m not a snob, but CMs are there like any other employee in the service industry to serve the guests not become a friend.

I asked for a room change upon arrival at GF RPC and had it granted by a friendly CM. Nothing wrong if some of you do make friends with them but from watching interactions over 10 days I think you are the exceptions not the norm.

They were quick to clear tables and refill food.

Some had a bigger smile than others, but I found that at BC and BWI as well.

The only place we were actually repeatedly ignored by one particular CM this past trip with not even a greeting was at BWI. Yet there were two others that were helpful and friendly at both check in and when I had a request to help with a modification to a reservation that MDE wasn’t allowing me to make.

We have two nights at AKL-CL in November. Our trip is scheduled so we can enjoy the resort. I would like to request a room with more animal viewing, so near a feeding spot, etc.. Is there something specific I should request? WouldI call the normal number or DSS? Thanks for any help. We are looking forward to wine, breakfast, more wine on the balcony.🍷🍷

Aloha!

Great day at poly! Denise at check is always good Nd was able to move me from 2nd to 1st floor.

Mgr and Denise came up while I had breakfast to make sure I was happy.

Dawnmarie is super nice in the lounge! Had a nice time chatting.

Just ran for a coffee and was offered a carafe of water for room.

My pix are not loading but I have a nice castle view ! (Mid section of lagoon side)

So far so good! Dd here later so I’m enjoying my day. Rode SM , shopped, swam, had bfast t and lunch in lounge.

Sat on patio a few times. I love love listening to the Hawaii music playing right near me.

Like a ghost town ! Pool had lots of seats, lounge empty and beach has been empty too.
@mrsap thought of you when I cheered gf lol.!2FB44606-680A-4912-8272-600DC322CE2F.jpeg
