OMG So I have to eat my former words... I just texted them to ask if their card has an AF and he said it DOES! "It started in the second year"!!! I'm in shock.

So now I'll have to find out precisely which one it is, what benefits it has, whether they use said benefits, and find out if a PC is a good idea for them. Wow. Wow wow wow.

It sounds like your parents put a lot of spend on the Explorer card to earn all those miles. They can do better if they can get new cards for their SUBs, or even just getting something like the CSP that has the same AF and moving their spend over to that card.

Read over DoC’s review. They’ll lose most of the benefits and category bonuses of the Explorer card, but they’ll keep access to expanded economy award availability which has the most value to me.

Thank you because I took a quick look for "Chase united cards" and I actually didn't see that one!

As I understand it, they put all 12 (!!!!) tickets to Japan on that card for our October 2018 trip. I am not sure if that's their "everyday spender" card too, but I would not be surprised if it is. Just gotta find out if the benefits are worth it. I honestly think if they find the Saver awards for a total of 120K miles, they'll be super happy. They don't drink so they won't be likely to purchase alcohol or incidentals on the plane... they should already get one free checked bag each since it's international... yeah IDK if there's value in it other that 2x miles on some purchases.

I tend to only watch and read stuff that I want to/enjoy. I only do the star wars stuff because my friend likes it and in return she does stuff I want to do so it evens out. I enjoyed not having to do any of it in August when I was solo and didn't even go in the land until she got there for our trip in Oct/Nov. And when the other just doesn't want to then we split up, like with the last new HP ride. There was no way I was waiting in a line that long for something I had no interest in plus I was having ear crystal issues after rip ride rocket and the mummy so I found a bench and she hit the single rider.

I've also never watched or cared to watch/read game of thrones, it's not my type of thing. And by now you're probably wondering what I do like. I enjoy NCIS, though not as much as before, the simpsons are never miss in our house and I still watch Grey's. I'm really enjoying All Rise on CBS and hope it gets a 2nd season. I'll watch any of the Pitch Perfect movies at any time from the start or wherever it's at on tv, same with the wedding date, last holiday and the holiday. The only entire series I have on dvd are The O.C. and Sports Night which was cancelled too soon.

While I enjoy football I'm looking forward to pitchers and catchers reporting and Nascar starting again.

And does Disney + have any of the MMC episodes from the 90's on it? We could watch some of them in the club

I watched some of the movies but also don't remember that much. I tried to make a commitment to get through the series because my oldest DD is a huge fan. I couldn't get through the Audible version of Prisoner of Azkaban because it creeped me out too much.

I was going to start the Game of Thrones books but then I learned that the author is unlikely to ever finish writing the series. And then everyone who was watching the series seemed to hate the ending. So at the moment I'm not feeling too bad about being left out of the GoT world.

I can't even read an innocuous comment on a message board that lightly mentions the GOT author without my brain exploding into bad words and blind rage. He wasted my time reading books that I truly loved with no plan to ever reach a conclusion. Because of this, I’m happy to argue with anyone any day that the HP universe is vastly superior to GOT universe and that Rowling is a queen and that other man is no more than the gum on my shoe. Ugh, I hate how this triggers me. I'm usually super chill.

It looks like it might be in the 60s for us. But snowstorms are typical too. I bought a new winter coat just in case since I am a Floridian with very little outerwear.

60s I could handle. Snow? Not so much. I'm a Californian who owns quite a bit of outerwear (and needs it when it's below 65 degrees!)

Well said. They are so much richer, better, and more interesting than the movies.

But you have to read all those words to figure out the details. I only read books about personal finance, early retirement and other related topics - and only 1 week a year on our beach trip.

Check out the audiobooks. They are fantastic.

It’s so funny Harry Potter came up here today. I’d never read the books or watched the movies, but about two months ago I started listening to the books on Audible. I’m on Goblet of Fire now. The narrator is so good at doing the different voices. And I just did the sorting quiz earlier today (before I read this whole conversation) and got Hufflepuff, which I kind of figured.

Yes, those are the books that finally got me willing to listen to audiobooks. I preferred reading the actual books until then. Now I listen to tons of audiobooks, but these are special.

If you purchase the British version, there is a different (but I hear equally good) narrator. I'd love to hear them but didn't want to spend a fortune over at amazon UK.

Just saw a comment on reddit award travel that said that (maybe) ANA passengers arriving at NRT from a first class flight get some sort of expedited procedure or line for immigration. Any chance @calypso726 can shed any light? The ANA website doesn't specifically answer that question. Might be nice if it'll shave a few minutes when we land there.

There is a “fast lane” in a sense but it is not only for ANA passengers & not only for F. You need an invitation from the airline (FAs will give you a card) or from another source (like a big company that invited you for some purpose) to use it. Some airlines give to F & J, some only to F, some only if you have status even if you’re in F... it changes by day & even by flight. Immigration procedures are very tight right now due to recent events. I don’t know if the fast lane is still running.

She was fine on the show and only on the last season or so when they brought the younger one's in. And she was just a 14 year old, she wasn't yet Brittany, it was still Disney after all. It was better before they brought them in though I knew at that point watching Christina she was going to be something because even at 14 she had that huge voice.
