This is Us- Season four

The song in the premiere this season was written specifically for This Is Us.

And it does say -

Could a stranger ever end up being you?

and later

How did a stranger ever end up being you?

But then again it does say ---

I found my way to you.

Oh man the season that they bugged the crap out of us with Kevin's love life! ;)

Hard to believe I remembered one line of that song. I could not keep my eyes off of Jack looking at Rebecca, lost in his gaze. If men could understand how powerful that is! :drinking1

I know that there are children that are biracial/mixed, with one white parent, and look white. Victoria Rowell from Y&R used to have stressful - and probably totally irritating situations - where people would not believe that her own son was hers.

However, Kevin's son is not Zoe's biological child. Why? Zoe's DNA would be evident in his hair, in some form. It is not.
I don't remember was the boy's hair a really light blond or something?

Kevin's son's hair was light. But no, not super blond. That colour could still be a biracial child of course.

I was referring to texture.

Ehhh...even that I don't think is always a given. My cousins daughters hair does not look really any different than my own daughters -it does feel a bit different, but looks pretty much the same in pics and in person (one is biracial, one is not,) so I don't know. I really don't think it's Zoe's but I also know that looks can be deceiving.

Agreed that there is such a variety with DNA and looks can definitely be deceiving.

But the chances of their child seeming to have that texture - when Kevin's isn't even completely like that - are beyond slim.

I have totally forgotten the scene at the cabin. What was the actual dialogue surrounding it all?

I am beyond curious on one hand. And feel worn down by the choices as well. How it has played out so far.

He does get around. ;)

I am happily married, but I’d be ok if he knocked on my door one day..

Also, Kevin's son was asked where his father was, just Kevin.

Might not mean a thing. Randall could have just been asking him instead of his mother because they were in a conversation.

Or maybe Kevin is a single father. Because he is holding out for Kimblebee.

HA!

Yeah, the kid in the flash-forward is pretty blond (in fact, pretty much a mini-Kevin).

I think it would be quite a stretch if he were Zoe's.

I'm going with Sophie:

I’d be fine if he ends up with Sophie, but it just seems so contrived if he does. A little too cutesy.

But at the same time, Jack and Rebecca's story is pretty cutesy and they've been teasing that Kevin will find a love story like theirs...

I was thinking more about the last episode yesterday and was wondering if you all thought there was significance to the fact that Sophie's mom never gave the emerald ring to her new fiancee either?

I don't think Jack and Rebecca are cutesy at all.

Not always true. A friend of mine who is Indian married a blond hair, blue-eyed fair-skinned man. Her first son looked exactly like his dad. She used to have problems with people assuming she was the nanny when they went out in public. It really made her mad. Their second son looks like a combination of his two parents.

That being said, I doubt a TV show would do that though because most people have the mistaken notions about biracial people posted on this thread.

They only met a couple times and she was sick.

I know I seem like I am right fighting at this point, that I get tcufrog.

However, I feel like my original post is being taken to erroneous places, when rebutted as not true or not always.

I honestly get the variance of biracial children surrounding me and in general before that. And your example in your post hands down and back around.

But I wasn't discussing all biracial children. I was specifically talking about the DNA of black hair textures coming through in even minute ways, with Kevin and Zoe. And in a myriad of variables as the black population - and Zoe - is of course of mixed DNA/race.

Vietnam, her parents, alcoholism, death of a newborn. They went through some rough stuff.

ETA: He also didn't want her to sing.

And Kevin and Sophie have dealt with him cheating on her and then his alcoholism. I guess I don't see too many huge differences, but good to hear another perspective!
