We still can’t decide if we should drive over Thursday to HS. We both wanna go really bad. We were planning to drive back Friday for Epcot but I told Dh we should only go for Thursday and leave it at that. We might have to rush to Epcot to get our magnet and see some of the topiaries

It isn't my business but honestly, you being pregnant... I dunno. I wouldn't go, simply because you can go anytime and you've been so often. There is another confirmed case in Florida now (and who knows how many randoms walking around asymptomatic).

That said I'm very practical and I get not wanting to sit in the house all the time. That makes me go crazy.

This is the first time I have seen something like this and had it not make me happy.

"It's just the flu" /s

Seriously Covid19 is going to get worse before it gets better - anything connected to travel is getting shellacked. We'll likely see some crazy deals over the next few months. Personally, I have no desire to travel at this moment.

Yep. I feel the exact same way. :(

I'm surprised by the Fed's emergency cut--kind of makes me nervous about what I don't know. The FOMC meeting isn't too far away so the fact they had to move now makes me wonder. Plus the news about Ford basically eliminating travel (including domestic) makes me think the economy is going to take a serious hit. And the 10-year under 1.00% today--that's insane. It's down 86 basis points since 1/2. I try not to be an alarmist, but there's a lot going on and not much of it is good.

So I have a reservation at Pop for March 19 because my son has a band trip plus FL
Resident tickets. Well, we didn’t get any info on the trip till Monday and I haven’t bought any tickets waiting for his schedule so I think I will cancel for the rest of us and go in May and June instead. Pop was so expensive anyways - about $65 less a night later. We’ve got an Easter trip to fort wilderness so that will tide is over :)

What does everyone use to check the weather? I was using accuweather. But I just checked that on my iPad on the app and it says DVNP will be in the 60s next week. When I checked on the computer this weekend it was in the 80s. I was surprised it changed so much in 2 days. But just looked on the computer and it says 80s. Ummm that is quite a difference especially from the same source!

:-X

I have something like 25 weather links/apps I check. Granted my business is extremely weather dependent, so I kinda have to pay close attention.

A lot are just repeats rehashes of the National Weather Service or Weather Channel, so I only check those if I'm really not liking the forecast. My daily use app is weather channel. The long range is usually a crapshoot on precipitation, and the near term forecast isn't much better on the hourly. It's fairly good on temps a week out and a general idea if precipitation is coming. I prefer the radar there than the other ones.

Accuweather I almost never use. I'll use it for long range forecast, but that's usually useless for all of them. The hourly on there is terrible. Sometimes though it'll be hyper accurate on precipitation over the next couple of hours similar to how Dark Sky used to be, so I keep it around.

WTForecast is usually pretty accurate. Not the forecast, just the notes.

National Weather Service is what I switch to when I need to start really looking at a forecast a few days out. I prefer their hourly chart, and they have a discussion page where the meteorologists break down what they are seeing on the models.

When precipitation matters, I start watching the NAM and GFS models on coolwx or meteocentre. Those are the actual forecast models and are updated every 6 hours. That's what the meteorologists mainly use for their forecasts, so it's nice to skip the middle man.

God I need help.....

The big conference in anaheim this weekend got postponed so who just changed their rez from the hyatt house by knotts to the one on harbor :dogdance::cool1::jumping1:
Congrats!!

Along that note I believe this is one of the biggest conferences in Anaheim, reports on the Disney boards of flash sales popping up at hotels and availability showing where it hasn’t been seen for months. If you’re visiting DLR in the next week re-price your hotel! Someone just rebooked their 4 night Hyatt House stay and saved $400. Chatter here.

I honestly can’t decide what to do. I’m very healthy and haven’t heard much about it affecting pregnant women but I also don’t know if I should take the risk. It’s a hard choice

Yeah, all the financial stuff is worrisome.

I hadn’t heard about Ford halting travel. My daughter travels frequently for work, and her company just told them to expense sanitizer, wipes, and masks. What?!? Can’t even find some of that stuff. Her boyfriend’s company has stopped travel.

I am just a wee bit more worried now, as there is a case in New York of a gentleman in “severe” condition. The kicker is he commuted to work every day on MetroNorth through Grand Central. Thousands of people have potentially been exposed.

totally off topic, but I know one of you Dr. Pepper lovers out there will get me... (because we all know Dr Pepper is THE best soda on the planet! ;)) Anyways, has anyone tried the dr pepper and cream soda mashup? I'm so intrigued and excited about this one!!

The last time I was this excited was when I found the Reese's International Delight coffee creamer, lol.

Paging @tink1970 (I think she's a Dr. Pepper fan.)

Now I feel very weather challenged :D. I'm just looking to see if I need to pack long sleeves or sleeveless tops! 20 degree difference on the forecast makes it tough. Layers it is!
I started packing tonight. I’m going with what I got. A few tank tops, some t shirts and a hoodie. That should cover it.

Thanks all for all the weather advice.

I have a lot of travel planned later this year and I am only slightly nervous.

I have four trips planned this year, and I'm starting to get nervous. More that my DH will freak out and decide it's too risky to go. I'm hoping it will blow over soon although I doubt it. I also worry that WDW/DLR might do something drastic like closing the parks like they did in Asia. Surely not, right?

I've been watching the refinance rates casually too, I'd love to refinance with a 15 year mortgage, we have 25 years left right now. Or plan is this is our forever house, but we already have a pretty low rate of 3.875 so it will need to drop more to be worth it (I think).

Dh and I met with a lawyer today for a free consultation to talk about getting our wills drawn up. Our financial advisor suggested getting it done before the baby is here. Dh wasn’t happy with the quote the guy gave us. I’m curious what others have paid to have a will made. Is anyone willing to share?

We had a living trust drawn up shortly after DD was born, so that was around 2011 or 2012. DH said the cost was around $600. It was worth every penny to me but he's claiming he could have done it himself with a legal zoom type website. All of our assets (retirement accounts, DVC, deed to house, life insurance, pensions, etc) list the trust as the beneficiary. It also included medical power of attorney as well as custody of DD and who will manage the trust on her behalf. It covered all of the major items that were important to us.
