Oops forgot the other part. We are staying at All-Star Movies. Got to the bus stop at 6:55am. First bus arrived around 7:05 and was filled up before we could get on. Made second bus that arrived around 7:24. We were through security, tapped in (stayed right!) and curbside by the Starbucks by 7:50am.

How successful have people been when using an iphone 6? Both DH and I have a 6 and I've been practicing every morning. Of course, getting on at home is different than actually being in the park. DS and DDIL both have iphone 10 and 11. It does take me a little longer to get my page to load, but I seem to be able to get into the boarding passes fairly well. Of course, I can't get past the page where it asks to remove people not in the park, so I have no idea if I will get an error message or not.

I used my iPhone 6 on Sunday (Xfinity Mobile) and got group 4! I used the “count to 3 after the clock hits 8:00” method and had smooth sailing. Was standing in Animation Courtyard, which was basically empty. (We weren’t worried about rope dropping a popular ride.)

Thanks for the report. Did you open the entire app after 3 seconds or was the app already open and you hit "Find out More" at this time?

Based on the current rate of distribution, how many seconds should I wait if I’d prefer a higher BG? (id prefer to ride in the afternoon).

Or, will GET move me to a higher number if I requested?

Based on the current rate of distribution of non-backup BGs, which is often concluded after 40 or 50 seconds, you shouldn't wait at all. There's no way to predict what BG number you'll get and there's also no way to predict if your phone is going to encounter a glitch and you'll have to close and restart the app. Sure, you could go to a GET CM to get a different BG number, but I don't know if there're any reports of people who've had success with this. Another thing to consider is that there've been days where the ride was down for significant periods of time and people with later BG numbers either didn't get to ride or rode much later in the day than had been anticipated.

In short: don't mess with the BG process if you want to ride. If you want to ride at a particular time, wait a few months or even a year or two, when FP+ will be available for the ride.

Miffy is 100% right. Try first thing, or don't bother. I mean, you could count to 10 after 8 instead of 3, but that's the only chance I'd even consider taking.

This is why I wouldn’t try to mess with trying to get a later group!!! sometimes they just go too fast.

When we got group 7, the people around us go groups 55. Their fingers seems to move just as fast as ours.

yesterday and today they've gone in less than 2 min, it might be the trend for the busy spring break/Easter season

I was able to practice today. I counted to 3 after my iPhone changed to 8:00, JBG was not red, but I was able to choose my status and JBG was clickable there. My whole family was listed and no problems. I couldn’t try again until 8:02 according to my phone clocks and they were all gone. So my first completely normal practice in quite a few times- no family missing and I didn’t have to reopen the app to be able to click.

As an aside, after watching the news this morning I hope that my husband’s conference isn’t cancelled and we’re going to be able to go to WDW for our April trip

First practice run today went smooth, Also was trying to show my wife while walking to the bus stop, that part didn't work as well. Had the app already open and on the RotR screen, Hit the My Status Button right at 8am and didn't notice the Red boarding group until I was already clicking the back button, went back to the the RotR screen where Join boarding was red.. Hit that, choose party and continued. We will run it again the next few day until we hit the parts on the 17th

Wow, another day where BG's are gone so fast. I practiced this morning, waiting a few seconds after 8 and it was successful! But I think I'm done waiting a few seconds after 8. We will be there Sunday morning, so still a few more practice days left! Thanks for all the tips! Also we plan on rope dropping Runaway Railway AND acquiring a BG, just my wife and I so I have a good feeling about this

Practice run with '8:00:03 method' using the atmoic clock, clicking on 'Find Out More' worked again for me today. I had interacted with the app around 7:58 and attempting to make FP changes. Not sure if this plays as a factor since doing so, I have had better results.

On the other hand, all my subsequent tries, I could not see the button persisting red, or being able to see the backup message. I tried till 8:03 then just gave up.

remember they also may have some guest recovery fps from yesterday to get through as well
