Best of the best. What brands will you not compromise on?

Omg I’ve got too many to mention !! One thing I never waiver on Coke and Dasani
As for my house - I’m a brand person all the way!! I grew up on off brands and I just don’t care for most ! Not all of them are bad just most name brands are better - you can find off brands made by same company but often they are not the same! Very interesting thread !!

Guess I've grown more brand loyal over the past year because everything is so shoddy and only the biggest brands stand by products. Used to be ok with knock offs but started to think manufacturing was getting unreliable, month to month the stuff inside would look or smell different and there is no customer service anymore so it's just me and my angst, no thanks.
At least with a brand there is a reputation of value they want to protect, no brand no reputation so no care.

All fever, health and wellness are big brand, literally collected every generic in my home and threw it out around Thanksgiving, directed my college students to do the same.
All skin care & hair care
All detergents, too important right now to get it wrong
All electronics - those 800 numbers go nowhere
Now I've added paper products because I started noticing skin is bothered, don't know what it's all treated with to get stuff white but who needs the trouble.
These days even canned stuff because I started to notice a weird tinny taste in some things, I wanna say it was green beans last month that made me think, "Huh, that's new - nope."
I'm also drifting towards organic fruits because my mirgraines go off the charts, maybe it's pesticides - no idea.

I was never this way so it's definitely not a status thing like the "Choosy mom's choose Jiff" slogan, no-one cares what's in my cabinets. The gap in quality can be astounding, wasn't always this way but it is so true now.

We live in the land of fakes, no thanks Mocklate, I'd like M&M's.

I'm not so much into brands as i m into origin and organic. I only use San Marzanos tomatoes if I use canned. I use grass fed, grass finished (not all grass fed beef is grass finished) beef. Only free range eggs. I can tell a difference in the taste. I do prefer White Lily flour for the texture when baking. I do stick to organic for the dirty dozen.
Grass fed & grass finished, hmmm, now this is interesting. Never thought about it.

Actually, both are Dean foods. Mayfield must pay Dean foods to use the name. Dean foods is the third largest dairy processor in the nation

Also, as I stated before Wal-Mart no longer sells the Mayfield milk in their stores and I was wrong. I forgot about when we go over to our lake lot in Alabama about every other weekend, the Wal-Mart over there does have it. I have no idea why they got to keep it, but man I wish my Wal-Mart at home did. But I will say that is a big lake in Alabama and it generates a whole lot of money for the area so maybe that is it. But it is the only Wal-Mart that I have seen it that still gets to sell it. The county is Cherokee county, Alabama, I think, lol. I do admit, it really gets my goat to see that they still get to have it there, lol.

I agree good name brands want to protect their name off brands your never sure what the heck is in them and how it was made when it comes to things in my body and my animals and my house that becomes important in this day and age where companies go cheap at our expense to save a buck!!

Kikkoman Soy Sauce
Heinz ketchup
Tide laundry detergent
Brand name cereal ALWAYS
Fairlife Milk
Fage greek yogurt

Hahahah, mocklate!! A Friends reference! I think I love you and I don't even know you! lol

Anyone else here from the South and understand what I am saying with the Mayfield brand milk? I mean, to me, the taste of it and Wal-Mart brand milk are extremely far apart. And the same seems true for me with like the Borden brand, Food City's brand milk and the Dollar General brand milk.

ketchup -- Heinz I simply cannot do the other brands of ketchup!
laundry detergent - Tide
iced tea - Turkey Hill
cupcakes and convenience pastries - Tastykake
bleach - Clorox (but I've bought lots of store brand recently to have stock piled)
disinfecting sprays - either Lysol or Clorox
milk - I don't drink milk, but my youngest will only drink Simple Truth lactose free, whole, organic from Kroger. Everything else tastes sour to her and I have no idea why. The child isn't even lactose intolerant. :flower1:
bread - Dave's Killer Breads
sandwich cookies - Oreos
english muffins - Thomas'
butter - Kerrygold
peas - LeSueur
tea bags - Tetley (British blend is my tea of choice). I cannot do other brands of tea as they taste like "nothing" to me. I even travel with tea bags in a ziploc. hehe

I'm sure that I have more on my list.
In the past I wasn't really a brand name food person, but I think that over the years I've become disappointed too many times in the quality of food products and now only want to spend my money on quality items where I feel like it counts.

I know exactly what you mean by Mayfield tasting the best. It's true. It tastes the closest to raw milk, which I used to have a lot when I dated the son of a dairy farmer in high school. Raw milk tastes like melted (vanilla) ice cream. SO GOOD.

I will only buy name brand OTC drugs anymore. I happened to have both store brand and brand name of something, and couldn't believe how much more effective the store brand was. Growing up with generic-is-equal, my mind was blown. It makes me wonder what we're missing with generic prescription meds.

Oh I don't think I have tasted raw milk, interesting, lol. But even though thier ice cream and other products are just as awesome, I will eat other brands of such, but the milk, I will not wavier.

We have a few:
The only tortilla chip DH will buy: Tostitos Scoops (IMO they're ok)
Coffee: We grind our own but our fave bean is Starbucks Breakfast Blend
Cheese: (well fake cheese) Velveeta
Mac& Cheese: only Kraft
Diet Coke.

and all things Jeep
