Is the gift shop open, or is literally everything closed?

The pool is open at Jambo but not the gym. None of the shops, bars or restaurants are open.

When you say Kidani has food available, what type? Forgive me, I've never stayed at AKL before(or even visited) so is it the refrigerated premade items or is it the pool snack bar? If the only place to eat there is Sanaa, ouch! I know it's expensive and probably booked solid. We'll be bringing some groceries, but limited items because I don't like to cook on vacation.

Kidani does have some food items in their store and the pool bar is open with a limited menu. Sanaa is open for all three meals, and has reportedly done take away for both lunch and dinner in addition to breakfast. Breakfast at Sanaa is quick serve, with some ready-made items available like cereals and pastries and some fresh cooked items. You can stay in the restaurant and eat your breakfast or take it with you.

I guess it’s good pool is open at least so it’s not super crowded at kidani? Eek I’m gettin nervous about the lack of food options lol we are staying in November so I’m hoping some stuff will reopen a little. We will have a rental car so I’ll have to make a stop for my yeti cup too! Haha

Here now. Lobby is beautiful! Makes the Kidani lobby look extremely small and the Kidani gift shop is small...very little food to buy there and it gets crowded fast. Kidani pool bar has limited menu, you can see it on Disney website, and it has short hours for food and closes in inclement weather. Honestly, they should bring in a cart or a food truck. The walk from Kidani is along the parking lots, they could have done something prettier.

Jambo pool wasn’t too crowded, but still more people than I thought.

Does anyone know if the Kidani gift shop sells bottles of wine? Both the Mara and the Jambo gift shop sold really nice bottles of South African wines, and I would like to pick some up on my trip in August. I will be driving, so I'm going to have to book a meal at Sanaa in order to get on property. Don't want to do that unless I know I can buy wine in the gift shop. Thanks!

I don’t think you need a reservation to get on property if you tell them you want to shop, as long as you are staying at another Disney resort. You need a reservation for the NBA hotels, however.

in the past, I know we have bought wine in the shop at Jambo, I’m not sure about Kidani. Part of the issue may be availability at this time. I wish there was a way you could call the store and ask before driving over.
