Hello everyone. We typically stay at BCV and this November we have a split stay at BCV and AKL. We are considering eliminating BCV and just staying at Kidani for 8 nights. Without park hopping and the lack of confirmation SAB will be open - we would prefer to unpack once. We have seen some negative reviews about the condition of the rooms in Kidani....are the rooms ok? We know the theming is much different, but we are ok with that as it would be Savannah view the entire time. Thoughts?

As someone who owns at BCV, AKV (Kidani) is our favorite for a resort-only stay! I can honestly say that I have never noticed anything terrible about the rooms, but I am also one who takes things in stride. These are rooms that are constantly in use, so I can tolerate some wear-and-tear. And, if the room happens not to be to your liking, just sit on the balcony (with a cup of coffee or glass of wine), enjoy the animals, and you’ll soon forget about the room!

Just got back from our split stay which included Kidani, some bullet points...

The Kidani walk of death .... our room was in the second to last building, and the walk from the lobby was the longest we've ever experienced. But I can understand the reason is because they wanted to create a vista to be able to see the animals. A high tower building, even though it would have a shorter walk would not be condicive to seeing the animals.

But the advantage to being way out on the end is that it's a reasonable walk over to Jambo house. It takes less time than using the shuttle (which was running no problem)

Jambo House was open but deserted. It's a place to go if you want quiet and solitude. Just about everything in that building (including gift shop) is shut down and quiet.

Jambo pool was open, but also nearly deserted. It's still one of my favorite pools there because it's so open and big.

Kidani pool had a bit more people, but it's smaller and also a bit beat looking... it could use a refurb.

Kidani gift shop (johari) was open. Very limited AKL merch. Food is pricey... I recommend Instacart + Publix which worked well.

We were given a 2br villa in place of our original booking at WL deluxe CL. That 2br villa was huge.

Sitting on the huge balcony watching the animals was also interesting.

Also... it's no problem to visit other resorts during the day... no MB checks... just the usual security & Covid precautions. We got Dole Whips at the Poly.

Overall, WDW is doing things very well for Covid.... masks, sanitizer, distancing markers, temp checks, barriers on buses & monorail, CM's reminding people to put their masks back on. Unlike what the news is saying about the rest of FL, WDW seems to be doing things right.. we felt very safe there.

As the Jambo pool is open, I would assume the playground also. But, as there is nothing else open at this time at Jambo (store, dining, lounge) I do not think Simba's activity center is open. But, people have reported that the community house at Kidani is open.

Did anyone who stayed at AKL see young kids with or without masks? We have a just over 2 year old who has trouble always wearing a mask. Are they being super strict with really young kids?

We have a two year old and no one has said anything about making her wear a mask. Note that there aren’t many people at Jambo, it might be different if the resort was crowded. We have just been at the resorts, not the parks.

Yeah we are unsure whether to attempt the parks for fear of being kicked out if he has trouble
