I swear this ride is doomed. It's a struggle to get a boarding pass to ride it, it goes down all the time, and now lightning messed it up. LOL
Maybe the best thing to happen to the ride...put it out of its misery, make em redo it and possibly figure out how to get it to run without issue.
 
Just got notification we aren’t getting on with boarding group 9 and customer service said sorry you got screwed but there is zero we can do to make up for it, which I think is absolutely ridiculous, they could have at least passed out a Mickey Ice cream bar or something geez! It was our only Hollywood studios day and left such a bad taste in my husbands mouth that I don’t see us coming back unfortunately.

Feel sorry for all the people who only had today as their one chance to ride. It was my first DHS reservation id been able to get in 2 weeks and I’m bummed, I can’t even imagine the huge disappointment of others. Sorry guys.
 
Sorry for all who missed out today. These things happen but it's still a HUGE disappointment!

Hope they can get the ride fixed. That lightening strike has potential to have done some major damage to the ride circuitry. :(

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone should be expecting any solutions to happen. With the current restrictions on park reservations, and as unreliable as the ride is under normal circumstances, there's not much that could reasonably be done.
 
Oh man. We're supposed to be in HS next Monday and Wednesday. First opportunity to ride ROTR. I hope this isn't a major problem.
 
Yeah I'm not condemning them for having a storm and unexpected downtime. It happens, and happens frequently with this ride. It's an amazing experience and a huge draw for HS.

But with COVID, no fastpasses, no park hopping in place, etc. they have little to no tools at their disposal to try to help us "try again" when it does open up.

It's very defeating for people when this happens. I think back to all the early mornings, all the planning, reading, and research, all the money, all the hold times, all the frustrating hoops I had to jump through to get to this point, and to just have them say, "sorry, have a nice rest of your day" is deflating to the extreme.

I'm not saying they "owe" us/me anything, just wish they could help us figure out ways to give it another go somehow.

I'm still dealing with that from our March trip.. getting the family all up at the crack of dawn to not get a boarding pass... I have got him finally coming around again with the later start time. I'm not sure we should try again when we go in October, because if he is let down again I will never hear the end of it.
