This is perhaps the most critical factor (and sadly, the one most out of our control). If you have a poor signal/slow connection and it takes a few extra seconds for the page to load, it's often too late to get a BG by the time the final "join" button appears.
The second time was on wifi, and we had everything optimized very recently due to the fact that we're WFH probably until the middle of next year. I was the only one home - so there was no reason speed should have been sapped. So - this was totally out of my control :(. Looks like 2 pm was tough today, I deleted and reloaded the app, will give another try tomorrow. Reality is that our DHS day is on a Friday, though, and Monday and Friday are apples and oranges in terms of crowds. I can only do what I can do!

My thoughts are that now that Disney has taken the tough part of having to choose your party from a list, this is just getting to a point of milliseconds. Many more people are prepared and ready because it is just a couple buttons and “Boom”, done. A lot of is a crapshoot around connection speed. Yesterday, we were in right at 10, pushed the right buttons right when they popped up, and still got 54 (which was nowhere close to getting called yesterday with all the tech troubles).

It's closed rn but last i saw it was in the 30s
We overheard a CM in the TOT queue tell the people next to us that any storms in the area shut Rise down for hours. Given how bad the weather was this weekend and the ride’s awful performance, it doesn’t seem like a throwaway comment but who knows.

Next time, head over to guest services and let them know that you were all in the park, but it only added the 1 person. This way, it’s as simple as you being added to their BG.

At least, that’s how it was pre-Covid. I can’t imagine it being different now.
I have never been able to get GET to do anything for us. Last trip we had 3 in one group and 1 in another and they would not move anyone.

Was she logged in under your account or on her own account?
She was on her acct. Tomorrow we will only use my acct and likely one device.

Here is my experience from Tuesday Sept 8:

Left Riviera at 8:30 am and walked to the CBR Skyliner line. We arrived at the line at 8:45 and it was fairly long but plenty of people lined up behind us. The line started running just before 9:00 am to DHS. We alternated with a line from Pop. Anyone coming from Riviera, which didn't start running until 9:00, was sent to the end of the CBR line. We arrived at the park at about 9:15 and we were at Starbucks at about 9:25. Security was quick. We got our breakfast and ate it and then went to RnR. My DH and DD rode the ride while I stayed in that area to get a boarding group. I got Group 11 using Disney wifi. I was really happy with that. All the practice paid off!

Once they were off RnR we walked over to SWGE (the line for ToT was really long) and by the time we got to SWGE our boarding group was called. It was around 10:30. We went through part of the ride and then it broke down. We were told to stay seated and about a half hour later we were evacuated. They scanned our magic bands and gave us a return pass to use anytime during the day. We rode MFSR (about a 40 minute wait) and then we went back to RotR and it was running so we decided to ride it again right then. This time it didn't break down! It would have been better to not be stuck at a certain point in the ride for 30 minutes (kind of strange to see that section repeat over and over) but at least we were able to ride. It was stressful the whole morning and I was relieved once it was all over. Lines for the rest of the day were rather long. It seemed so busy! I would love to ride it again but I didn't like the stress of trying to get there early, get a boarding group, get stuck on the ride, have to come back later and hope the ride worked this time... We ended up changing our second day at DHS to MK. The wait times were much shorter there.

Anyway - success thanks to this thread. Thank you and MTFBWY.

When I practice at home since you can't actually complete the process because none of your guests are in the park, how do I know if I would have gotten a BG? Usually the first time I try right at 10am it takes me to as far as my party and then I can't go any further. Then I try again right away just for practice and a red banner comes up across the bottom saying that groups are full. Does getting to my party the first time I try mean if we had been there we'd have gotten a BG or is there another step you can't practice since you're not in the park? I hope this makes sense.

Also, the first day I set my alarm to practice I was so confused at 10am went I clicked...then I realized we're an hour off from Florida so I actually have to do it at 9am and 1pm! :)

Thanks in advance for the help!

This is because the castmembers have to stand outside to read your MagicBand ... not safe in case of lightning....and then the one section of the ride that requires we run outside for one second to board the transport.
And the exit seems to be open to weather delays with the large screen vulnerable to lightning and wind and rain... Is that the reason for the delays?

Got BG 6 today - both DH and I trying on Verizon phones, not on WiFi. He got it, I got a connection error.

got called immediately at 10am (after SDD and a saucer ride) and got in line. Right as we were about to enter the doorway, rain started AND ride went down. They moved us all inside through the long standby queue. Waited over an hour and they finally walked us all out (BG 1-9 looks like) and got FP for return today. Fingers crossed it goes back online. At least thankful we missed the rain and had a bench seat inside the queue.
Can you leave the queue if you don’t want to was it that long? Or are you trapped in there?

Waits were longer, but were there a lot of crowds there as well?

Were you let into the park before opening or did HS open at 9am? Trying to plan for going next week!

Waits were long and it was very crowded on Tuesday morning. Once it rained in the late afternoon it got a little better. Star Tours was a walk on and ToT had a much shorter line late in the day. I think the mornings will always be busy since everyone wants to get there early and try for a boarding pass. I'm glad they open the rides up before 10:00 am.

BG 21. I was refreshing the join screen, noticed I had to manually add everyone and got "not everyone in park" message. I was able to go back and join again with everyone and was still successful. The crew has already done ToT, not sure how crowded it is today, we actually got here early.

Hoping we are called soon, heading home today so we have a plane to catch.
