We were very lucky today. Thanks to this group I was prepared and we lucked out and got BG 10. Everything went smoothly with that but I figured there were issues since we didn’t get called over until noon.
We have a DAS for our son and every ride we went to said the system was glitching. Several rides couldn’t even get DAS to work, although they could verify us. That glitch worked in our favor as they just sent us through the lines.
Really all my son cared about was RoTR. He’s been planning it since it opened even though I explained that the likelihood of us riding wasn’t great. So glad I was wrong.
We didn’t get to ride the Railway ride though as it was down most of the time we were there. We have a couple hours tomorrow before heading to the airport. Hopefully we can do that.
So what did you do differently than the rest who got the error message? iPhone or Android?

This morning was rough. Thanks to practice, I was barely phased by the "not in park" error, and just kept reloading and trying. Successfully got BG9 after nearly 20 seconds. I was nervous I had missed out, but it worked.
After 10:45 before they started calling BGs, but we got called around noon.

It was crowded everywhere, not just Galaxy’s Edge. Because of the glitch at 10, people just waited around for the next drop at 2. I wish that Disney would have just decided to NOT open BGs at 2, if the ride was having such issues. GET was telling people, over and over, to try again at 2 and there would be lots of spots because so many were shut out at 10. This got many hopes up, only to be dashed when hardly any BGs opened at 2. I will never condone the nastiness that some were directing at the CMs, but also a little empathy toward guests would go a long way. I know they are frustrated and tired of dealing with angry guests, but these trips are expensive and many folks we talked to in lines today were not locals.

Agreed. I was also told that things were going to be shiny at 2, but the boarding groups weren’t moving fast enough. I think on a normal day we probably would have gotten a 2pm slot. It LOOKED like it was going to work for us.

We and everyone else could have played the day much differently had we known there was no point to try at 2.

Today is my D-day. Hoping everything that happened in the last few days will be just a thing of the past and we have a smooth day........
Good luck! Please update! We head to WDW for just 1 day on Friday and I’m debating on switching from HS to MK if the issues with RoTR and MMRR continue.

I just started practicing today for our trip next week and have a dumb question. Do I have to select my party each time? We have so many people on our list of friends and family that it took several seconds to select the correct names, which definitely prevented me from getting it.

Have to share what worked for us today. It’s our last day and it’s been pretty busy but today was HS day and we were hopeful!
in order to get in line for HS before skyliner, bus, and parking lot crowds, order breakfast from the boardwalk bakery. get a Lyft there, and walk to HS. We were in line at 9am at HS and it opened at 9. MMRR opened at 9:15 and was running. We were 13th in the park. Walked on that and slinky and RnRC. do this!!

In the past, you would need to select each member, but that recently changed. Now, everyone who is scanned into the park should automatically be selected, so you just click on "join" as fast as you can.

When practicing from home, you won't have anyone but yourself showing as selected, but don't take time to select others or else you won't be fast enough. Just skip selecting others and click "join" at the bottom of the page.

Practicing that way will simulate the actual in-park experience and help you get faster. If you get the "Not So Fast" message asking if everyone is in the park, then you were fast enough and would have gotten a BG if you were in the park.

Did you get a BG for RoTR?

Update from my last post, yesterday I did get the "not in park". I only needed to go back and hit join again and the system picked everyone up. It's almost as if there was a slight delay between the join button and the detection of everyone. I was worried we'd miss out, but it was fine. We had BG 21. It took awhile for groups to start being called. We completed ToT and RnR just right around 10. Proceeded on to Slinky, an 80min wait that really took just under 60. Grabbed a quick lunch. Headed to MMRR and it went down on our way. Since we didn't care about anything else and were really only waiting and hoping for our BG before leaving for the airport, we got in line anyway. I don't even know how long that took, but we made it inside to the ramp when it went down again. At this point up to BG 20 was being called and we were racing time so we bailed and headed to GE. I was asking a CM about how long it might take to get through since we had a plane to catch when our group was called. She said we could just exit out if needed.

We made it, barely. Left DHS about 30 min after I had wanted, but we got RotR in. This was only my second ride (first in Jan) and I know of one thing that was not working and I felt a little more was missing as well. It was still enjoyable.

I hope they fix the BG process soon, but honestly, if you have to manually select everyone then go back and hit join again. Don't waste time selecting everyone (I did) and proceeding, just go back and start again seemed to work well.

Do you need location settings on to get a boarding pass?
I never allow apps to access my location and never even keep the GPS on.

I thought it was just digital after being scanned in not location tracking?

You don’t need location services for boarding groups. The only things I know of that you need it for are to join the wait list for ts dining and to check in for ts dining. I‘m with you on not allowing apps to track me any more than I have to. Btw, off-topic, but there are apps that block trackers from other apps, if you’re looking for more privacy. Mine stops thousands of trackers a day and I have very few apps downloaded...

Fingers crossed today is good for RoTR and BGs. I'm at HS tomorrow and even though I have ridden RoTR several times in the past, I am so nervous about getting a BG. The friend I am going with has never ridden it and we only have 1 day to try.

Thank you! I'm not sure that will work for us because there has been a glitch in our MDE for years. It's my account, my e-mail, etc, but for whatever reason, it thinks it's my husband's account so he comes up as the person joining. The problem is, he isn't coming on this trip.
