EXPIRED - Direct Sales Incentives - Summer 2020 - Expanded list!

Oh wow. Thank you all for explaining all that. I was actually planning to look around here today and see if I could find a good explanation and here it is.

Now, I do have a question. Say I call to make a direct purchase and use the method outlined above. I believe I can't close until it is fully paid for, meaning after the ba Lance has been paid to DVC.. So long as my check in date is after closing can I make a reservation before I close?

You can start making reservations almost immediately......
As soon as they took my downpayment, they emailed me an activation code. I had everything set up and ready to go within an hour or 2... So I purchased last week, and I already banked my points and then used them for a 2021 reservation. And not due to close until next month.

Man they sure do make it easy and user friendly, don't they?

When I made my purchase yesterday, the guide said I had 20 days to pay the balance. If I wanted to go the 30/60/90 day route, do I need to contact my guide again and have that written into the contract? It's been over a day and I haven't even received my DocuSign documents yet, although the points just now showed up in my account. I have the money on hand, so I don't need to spread it out, but the option would be nice.

Mine is in fact written into my contract, so I would hazard a guess that yes, you'd need it written that way.

I assume you have to make (pretty significant) minimum monthly payments on the Chase Visa for the duration of the 6-9 months?

I paid a small amount...thinking $500?...each month...and then whatever was left in the last month,

So, there is nothing that forces you to pay it in equal amounts. The only thing is if you don’t get it paid in the 6 months, you get all the interest added back.

wow, that’s intense! I’ve only done the 0% offer thing a few times and the cards I used (non-Disney) only started accruing go-forward interest; but yikes if it was retroactive I’d pay it off at 5 months!

Yes, it only remains free as long as you pay off on time. Well, that was the way it was last year when I did it. And yup, I definitely did the payment with auto deduct as soon as the last statement hit.

Yes, around 1% of the balance:
"Minimum Payment: We will calculate the minimum payment as the larger of: 1) $35 (or total amount you owe if less than $35); or 2) the sum of 1% of the new balance, the periodic interest charges, and late fees we have billed you on the statement for which your minimum payment is calculated. "

Does anyone know if you have to call to upgrade to premier as I don’t see an option online to do so?
You need to apply for the premier as it is a different account. I have both. HINT: do it from the dvc member site if you are a member. I screwed up! I lost out on 50 extra dollars by doing on the portal for my regular account.

Yes, I'm quoting myself here.

So I was chatting with Member Services while I'm filling out this paperwork, and they said they can't bank the 2019 points until my contract closes. My guide said it would take 45 days to close, so I'll be the next use year before that happens. :headache:

Also, I can't book until I close and the points get moved into next use year. I'm already at the 10 month mark. :headache:

I called Member Services this morning and they moved the 2019 points with no problem. When you call, the cast member you speak with will need to put you on hold because they need to take it up a level or something, but it doesn't take long.

Now I have to figure out how to get this paperwork notarized. I have gone to my bank in the past, but it's "temporarily closed." I don't think it's due to Covid, because our numbers are lower now than the last time I went in to the branch. Maybe air quality, but they work inside?? :confused3

Buy direct, they said. Super easy, they said. :chat:

I went to one of my local UPS stores. I am glad I called a few locations first after work. One didn't answer, and I called twice. One answered, but the notary person only works from 10-3. :headache: Finally, I called one more, across town, and that one had someone working in the evening today. They charge $15 and my bank does it for free.

I've never had a problem just showing up at my bank and getting it done. I did stop by the ONE branch of my bank that seems to be open locally, and they had a notary person, but she was busy and wouldn't be available. I could make an appointment....but nothing in the evening. She said I should have called first - I had. Nobody answered. I asked her why all the banks are closed, because they had been open even when our Covid numbers were higher. She said they are all open, well maybe just the drive through. Um, yeah, I can't get something notarized in a drive through? :confused3

I paid the $15 at the UPS Store. The lady saw the words mortgage and Wilderness and she's like - are you going to LIVE THERE?! :rotfl:

Then drove back across town to the FedEx store to drop it off, but it's done! :cool1:

Actually they don't back charge interest. I wondered about this and the folks at Chase told me that the Disney Visa did not do that with the vacation package/DVC purchase promotion

Actually you can I have gotten 6 documents (3 contracts each in 2 places) notarized through the drive through since COVID-19 started.

That's really interesting! The lady at the bank told me I couldn't. She also said the banks weren't closed, but Google is saying they are and nobody is answering the phones. I have no idea what's going on, and our air quality is too poor to to running in and out of stores more than necessary.

I thought about waiting a day and trying other bank branches, but the UPS store told me usually they don't have notary services in the evening. Today she was covering someone else's schedule, so I decided to just pay the $15 to get it done since I was getting really frustrated and wasn't sure when I'd be able to get it done if I waited. It's bizarre.
