Also, i am having serious problems with the MDE app! Resetting network settings did not help and the app will not load or turn on because it always thinks it is not connected to internet .

Can I just wait and get a BG with GET at 10am ? Or wait before 10 with one of the get people? Or is there already a line at the blue umbrellas before 10?
Do not rely on GET to get you a BG. I would sort issues out with the app prior to coming to the park. Delete the app. Make sure it’s up to date. Make sure you have the latest version of your phones software etc. also trying calling Disney tech support to help.

And when the time comes, be prepared to hit the join button 3 times as quick as possible.

Quick report on today:

Originally got to parking gate at 8:15, so we were (obviously) turned away. We went to the Speedway to fill up, then headed back over around 8:40 (when the map started going red in the road leading to the entrance). Got there around 8:45- they were not turning cars around, and soon let us up to the gate. We were about 7 cars back in our lane. Unfortunately our lane was being serviced by a person who also had to handle two lanes, so we took a bit longer getting through. (It looked like the other lanes had a dedicated toll booth worker).

Got through temp screen, bag check, and ticket entry, and got in line for MMRR at 9:22. Posted wait was 70 minutes. Ended up on MMRR at 9:51 (eek). Ride BROKE DOWN at 9:56 (EEK). Literally started back up 15 seconds to 10 (WHAT).

BUT GOOD NEWS! Husband got us boarding group 5!

Success summary: husband used a Pixel 3, on park wifi, phone battery saver on, location services on, in the actual MMRR attraction while we were moving.

I got the “something went wrong error” on my iPhone 11, data, location services off, in the attraction.

We got called around 10:30 am!

When you drove from pop what time did you leave / get in the park? how long was security line ?

right now I am thinking of prebooking a taxi ( I need a car seat and dont want to risk not being able to get an Uber with a seat ) at 8:30 knowing that they will let cars in at 8:50?

i know many people suggest walking but I am not going to make reservations that I won’t keep and i am sure I would see many people walking but I did not want to experiment with not Knowing where I was even though it is probably obvious !

We left the resort at about 9 the first day, a little earlier the second day. I hadn't seen the more recent reports and thought they might still be turning people away before 9. The drive from Pop is super short. Temp checks and security both went fast, no real waits. We were in the park by 9:30.

GET will not “get” anyone a BG because the app didn’t work on your phone. That happens to thousands of people every day (including my DH on two attempts at DLR in January; luckily we had 5 other phones trying and got BGs on one of those), so they can’t give all of those people BGs. So call IT before your trip to get help and make sure you have a successful practice run at home before you go. MTFBWY.

So, my experience so far with BGs. I've been able to help several friends get a BG while not being in the park (I live in Chile). Several people connected to the same My Disney Experience Profile. Every time we try this, I've been successful. Today I was even able to get BG1 for some friends!!!!
My recommendation is if you can get somebody from outside the park to help you out, do it!!! It will definitely increase your chances.

Going to HS today! The only other day we’ve been since Rise opened was in August, just my husband and I. We got BG9 but that was the day the ride never opened after being struck by lightning. My husband, 2 daughters and my mom are having breakfast at Topolinos terrace (7:30 reservation) and taking the Skyliner over (fingers crossed they scan in by 10.) I will arrive by car at 9. Fingers crossed we get a BG and actually get to ride today!

Will we be able to try to get a boarding group at 2pm from our resort if we enter DHS in the morning and then return to the resort around noon? Do you have to be physically in the park when the virtual cue opens? :)

As long as you have scanned into the park at some point in the day, you can try for a BG regardless if you're still in the park or not.

Thanks for the response. That was the way it worked pre-Covid so it is good to know that it hasn't changed. We have a lunch reservation at Beaches and Cream and might need to try for the 2pm boarding group while out of the park. :)

just remember now you only have 1 hour to return as opposed to 2 pre covid

I had my first practice round with no errors out of three tries this morning. Still had to manually select all but didn't get the red banner and went right to the everyone isn't in the park screen.

I tried to practice today at home. I think I clicked join to early the first time 9:59. I added everyone and didn’t get it. I went back and tried again at 10:00. Then again while my phone was still on 10:00, no luck. Seems they were gone super fast. Maybe I’m not doing it right? Also am I supposed to have my location on or off on my phone?

If you clicked join the first time at 959 and had to refresh or go back and re-click, that may have taken too long. passes are gone in 5-10 seconds, so if timing is off even just a little bit, you're not going to get it to work right. keep trying, but try to wait til right when the time changes to exactly 10 or 2.

While it's correct that the rest of your party is not auto-selected when practicing from home, you can just skip selecting them manually and hit "join" as quickly as possible when practicing.

If you were able to manually select others and still not get the "red screen of death" then you must be really fast! :worship:

For most people, those few extra seconds it would take to select others is too long.

Ok thank you! I thought I messed up clicking join to early.

One thing I've been doing is switching my Apple Watch to a face that has a second hand and when I get to 5 seconds from 10 or 2 I have my finger over join ready. Once you do it enough you'll know where you'll need to touch on the next screen and you'll be ready for when it loads.

I have one hand ready to tap select all and the other tapping join ASAP. So the select all part isn't required if we're all scanned into the park and skipping this while practicing will better simulate the real thing?
