Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

I apologize if this has been covered, but how do you know if you’ve been successful practicing from home? If you get to the “Is everyone here?” screen does that mean anything?
Yes, that counts as a successful practice. If you hadn’t got through to that page, you would have gotten either “something went wrong” message or “this queue is now full, you can try again at noon” or something like that. Congratulations! 🙂

Awesome, thank you so much!!

I tried searching but couldn't find the answer to this, so I'm sorry if it's located somewhere and I missed it. If I try at 7:00 for Web Slingers and get a boarding group but it's a higher number that won't get called before 12:00, can I cancel that boarding group and try for the 12:00 Rise of the Resistance instead? I do have a hopper but we're starting at CA. This will be our last day of 4 days so hopefully we'll have been able to ride both Web Slingers and ROTR. Our last day I hope to try for both but I didn't know if I get a Web Slingers am I stuck with it or can I cancel and try for ROTR since we're hopping there at 1:00?

If you're starting at CA, get your Webslingers group. You can't get the ROTR.

If it's not yet 12pm and you still have your Webslingers you'll need to cancel it if you're trying for ROTR. You can only have one active Boarding group.

I don't know if that's been a problem for anyone as I've been at the park for 2 days and I've gotten a boarding group 4 times and been able to ride ROTR and webslingers each twice. Haven't had an overlap issue at all. ROTR broke down on me twice and cast members switched it to a "multi-experience" pass and we got to use the FAST PASS Lane that night. (It's generally not opened yet.)

I would think their system has calculated that a given number of boarding groups are distributed in the morning and should be used up by 12pm so guests can try for the different ride (Who knows.)

Also randomly, as people have also stated. If you miss your alloted time for your boarding pass, it doesn't seem like cast members care too much. I had one that supposedly expired at 4:01pm but I was in the queue but wasn't scanned in yet. No one batted an eye.

Thank you, I know you can't hold both but I didn't know if I could cancel one. I hope that we can do both in the same day if we get low enough boarding numbers. We just had friends go to Disney this week and they got a boarding group for ROTR but it was higher (in the 120s) and they didn't get called until the afternoon. So they couldn't do Webslingers. I don't want to assume that I can get both in the same day, but it would be awesome if I can.

Just got back from a 2-day 1-park-per-day visit. Thanks to all the tips here and a few practice sessions at home, I was able to get BG 16 for ROTR and BG 14 for WS using the refresh method. What surprised me was how quickly they called my BG even though the initial estimate said something like 160 minutes. I received notification at 8:52 am that my BG has been called for ROTR and at 8:38 a.m. that my BG has been called for WS. This is good news for people who have park hoppers as they can hustle as soon as their BG is called, ride it and try the other virtual queue at noon, although there is a chance that the ride may break down and they may have to make the decision whether to cancel it in order to try at noon or keep it and hope they have the ride fixed by end of day. Also as other people have reported, waiting for WS even with virtual queue BG took forever. I entered the queue at 9:20 a.m. and didn't get out until 10:30 a.m. so be mentally prepared for a long wait. Also, park wifi never worked for me on both days and cell signal for my carrier only worked intermittently, so I don't think I would have been successful trying at noon for the virtual queues at the parks, so I'm happy it worked out with the 7 a.m. attempts at the hotel.

Have been practicing for Rise at the noon time and finding that they go out within a couple of seconds. Did you find that to be true for 7 am?

It's definitely gone quick. I've seen that join button disappear with 10 second.

When we had the 12pm allotted boarding groups I found we were waiting somewhere between 30-45 minutes after being notified and standing around in the queue.

I’m sure this has been answered plenty of times, so sorry about that lol. I know for the 7 AM drop only the people with eligible park reservations and tickets will be automatically selected. But at the 12 PM drop are the only people automatically selected the people who have entered the park?

If you have an Apple Watch & IPhone, add a watch face with a second hand. As the watch gets to 6:59:59 and heads 7am, start clicking through the Join buttons. I got 27 and 16 this way in the past two weeks.

This is exactly what I did pre covid and successfully got a BG. Here’s hoping it works when we arrive in August! I feel like I may do 6:59:58 this time because I feel like this version of the app is more delayed. 🤷‍♀️

We were just there on Friday 7/16 and had the same experience. Got BG 39 from the hotel room and it said 240 minutes estimate I believe. Going off that I thought we had until 10:30-11am before we'd be called for our hour window so I figured we'd take our time getting over to the park. My family are slow risers (besides me) and as soon as 9am hit the time estimate started dropping rapidly. I had to switch into panic mode when instead of 10:30+ our group was called at 9:30! Had to force march everyone to the park before we were fully ready to go for the day. Even so the estimate had dropped so much from what it had said that we couldn't get over to the ride itself before our time window expired! We made it there at 10:35 - about 4 minutes after our window ended. Thought we were hosed but thankfully they still accepted the passes and we were able to ride it for the first time ever. And wow! What a ride! Had I known before how good it was I REALLY would have been disappointed if we'd missed it by just 4 minutes!

Nevermind! Going to do more reading. I’ll find this refresh method description somewhere on here before bugging y’all! 🤣🤣🤣
Refresh method basically means you click the Join Boarding Group button a few minutes before 7 a.m. and make sure you are either at ROTR tab or WS tab. Then once the clock hits 7 a.m (or some advise 6:59:59) you PULL DOWN your screen (hence refresh) to activate the Join button. Quickly press the Join button and you should see all members of your party selected and quickly press the Join button again.

Basically the choice is between choosing to start from the very first Join button from first page (Join-Join-Join) at 7 a.m. or do the first Join before 7 a.m. and then Refresh-Join-Join at 7 a.m. Hope that makes sense.

I have the same question. I’m wondering if it’s the same as WDW.

Hi,
Just filling in with our experience today with the ROTR virtual queue. I was refreshing at 6:59 and clicked join and literally 2 seconds after 7:00 nothing was available. I was talking with some of the people at the info points in the park and they said that way more slots are released at noon than at 7 because they don't want to release too many slots first thing and then have the ride shut down. Sure enough we got a boarding group when we tried at noon, and everyone around us seemed to as well. The ride actually did break down while we were on it but we were able to return 2 hours later when it was running again.
Pretty cool ride!

Just for future reference, as has been noted earlier on this thread, typically they have been very lenient for lateness. Like, HOURS late with no questions asked. Somebody here said a CM told them they are instructed to take BGs until the end of the day. Not sure if that’s accurate, but I haven’t heard of anybody being turned away for being late to their BG. We were an hour late, ourselves, since we were stuck on a broken-down PotC; when I told the CM, he brushed it off with a “no problem.” 🙂

Thanks for this info. I also see that they are boarding waaaaayyyy more groups than before, into the mid-two hundreds.

I have been stressed about our first day back in late August. Debating on whether to try for the 7 am BG from the hotel or to skip it and try to get to the park early. This info definitely helps!

Thanks, :woohoo:
