There's so many things to do on the main island, nevermind all the stuff I'll be skipping on the other nearby islands. These are my rough notes from excel but I have way more stuff bookmarked. I'd started planning the Tokyo part and gave up the end of the year, so I never made it down to Okinawa.
If I remember correctly, there's another unesco world heritage site, but I think it's more difficult to get to. It's quite different from the main part of Japan. And now that I have 3 nights instead of 2, I need to add more to my list and take some off probably.

It got on my radar after I watched the episode that goes with
this article that Dr. Sanjay Gupta did about Japan's oldest population and what they ate. I'm also not a sit on the beach person, but wanted something in the middle to slow things down a bit. I will rent a car here, which should make things interesting driving on the other side of the road
