Disneyland DVC Member Lounge

Did you two cross paths at all? Say hi? End up in the background of each other's pictures??

Do they have hot chocolate? (Not that it matters to me since I'm resale....but I'm still curious since that's my go-to warm beverage on vacations.)

Yes, spent some time with @NVDISFamily and his family. Yes, they have hot chocolate. Espresso, latte, Americano, etc.

Same machines they have in Delta SkyClub lounges.

Considering resale members own part of the finite number of overall DVC points, it’s truly so weird that only direct members can use the lounges. Oh well. I’ll have to buy my own hot cocoa lol.

It looks pretty dark in there. I wish they had some windows or skylights.
Not at all. Just my being lazy, not bringing the fancy camera, and not taking the time to shoot the pictures in RAW and fixing them in Lightroom. Overall it was a very well themed and welcoming place. Would highly recommend as a respite from crazy park days as an alternative to walking back to VGC if you just need a break, the “free” soda or espresso isn’t bad either :)

Other key points - the materials, texture, etc. all seemed to be a step well above IKEA grade quality. Seemed much larger than Epcot. I’ll be back often.

I just keep reminding myself that I can buy a LOT of hot chocolate with the money I saved by buying resale. (I mean, I couldn't have purchased VGC direct anyway but still....)

The lounges are funded by DVC as part of their marketing budget, and aren’t supported by dues, just like Moonlight Magic events.

Fair, but the points that a resale owner has were at one point purchased direct by someone who no longer owns them. DVC already had direct money on those points, and chose not to ROFR them.

What are the lounges hours? Also, would you say it holds more people than the Epcot lounge? And, were the giveaways just for yesterday or do you think they will have them for the next week or 2?
I'm looking forward to going in the next week and half once I'm back from WDW.

Yes, we found it quite dark and missed the brightness/views of the Epcot lounge. Overall it’s great, and I’m sure we’ll use it often as locals!

The beverage dispensers are newer/fancier than at Epcot, and there are actually bathrooms in the lounge!!!🥳🤩 I didn’t notice any charging stations, but I wasn’t actually looking for them at the time. We were hoping for gummy bears (IYKYK), but it seems those are gone forever at any lounge. Snacks were lays potato chips and cheez-its. The gifts were a nice touch, and we saved our popcorn voucher for a future visit (expires in December). Oh, and my husband and I were told we could bring 5 additional guests for each of our QR codes. 😅 Glad we went to check it out on opening day! 🥲

The hours yesterday were 11-6, and it definitely holds more people than Epcot. Seating is not currently being assigned like at Epcot either. It looked like they had plenty of gifts, but I didn’t ask specifically how long they’d be handing them out.

Thank you, that's good to hear about seating. Do the tables have the charging ports at them like at Epcot?

It was just my luck that this opened up during my longest wdw trip lol

But resale owners know going in that they aren’t going to have access to these things. The argument is that they don’t care about them and just want the lower ppp.

I will admit I made the same arguments and then felt very happy when I ended up adding some direct points to get a Blue Card.

I’m still 80% resale, but it is nice to have a bucket of points that have access to VDH and any new properties, lounges, discounts if I don’t renew my MK, etc.

There are not as many tables actually, and I did not see any charging ports (but wasn’t searching for them at the time). Our coffee table definitely didn’t have one…

We just got back from WDW on Sunday! 😆😆 Enjoy your trip!

The YouTube videos show that there are numerous outlets along the outer edge.

Respectfully, it's a pointless debate. All of the member perks are positioned as incentives to buy direct. If you chose to buy resale, enjoy your savings!
