Disney Magic Kingdoms

It actually makes me want to watch The Black Cauldron. I don't know if I ever saw it as a kid. I don't think so.
I am sure I have never seen it and it certainly is not a classic in my book. No plans to buy the Premium character and I will get whatever I get. Got my sisters in town starting next weekend so this is getting put to the sidelines.

Enjoy seeing your sisters!

What did they give out this time?
Is it sad that I don’t remember already? Pretty sure there were some gems involved, so that was a plus

it also seemed like they gave a whole lot more gems for leftover currency this time around. Or maybe I was dreaming it? In any case, I did amass some extra gems at the season’s end somehow

Used some gems and got three creepy chests. Finally got the Bride…complete collection of characters released to this point (excluding Black Cauldron).
There are a bunch that I need in those chests but the odds look abysmal. How many did you have to buy to get the Bride?

Wow. I have been playing since about the Beauty and the Beast event and I am missing quite a few characters!

Just welcomed Fflam at Tier 20 of the Kingdom Pass.

All Druun milestones are complete, last two for the Crabs final milestone out right now. Leveling Ezra and Patch to 9. I should be in Tier 22 by the end of the day.

Very tired of these cascading tappers...but they provided a lot of happiness.

I watched it last week and loved it! I tried Turning Red, Soul, etc. and never got through those. But this one is my kind of tale! I think it may be because the voice of the narrator is the same as in the cartoon version of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Return of the King animated movies from the late 70s/1980. And pretty sure Gurgi (the furry character) was voiced by whomever voiced Gollum in those features. Watching those movies in my early childhood sparked my interest in Tolkien and his novels. So just hearing the narrator at the beginning was nostalgic for me.

The Black Cauldron story line seems to “borrow“ very similar thematic elements as the Tolkien stories.

Huh. Sounds like I should give a try some time.

Randomly, we have a little white poodle, about 15 years old. She's deaf, but anytime I talk to her, I use a different name. Her name is Rosie, but she's been called Frère Jacques, Goldilocks, Princess Poops...you get the idea.

Today, as we're going outside at lunchtime, I looked at her and said "Come on, Gurgi." Then I was like...huh...she really does look like Gurgi. That may be her new nickname for a while. It'll likely confuse my husband.

Anyway, Black Cauldron...last time I watched it was in 2020/2021 when the 4k was released on iTunes. Looks great, totally understand why it was scary for folks, but the story is a tad thin for me. Still don't regret buying the digital or having two versions of the soundtrack.
