Having a responsive broker definitely makes the process a lot smoother. Kerri MacPherson at DVCRM has been great about responding quickly to text messages… even on a weekend morning….

I am aware that this is not the best price. But I want to get a contract closed before the 11m booking window for my 2025 Spring Break trip and desire more points than the 125 contract that is in the process of closing. It was also important for me to match the Use Years….

I made offers on a number of BC/BW contracts, but it seems the reasonably priced small contracts go almost instantly and the ones that are around have sellers who want to hold on for top dollar…. which is their prerogative.

In the grand scheme of things, $1000 extra on the buy in makes no difference… it’s one night cash price in a studio at certain times of year! Better to find what you want… that’s the approach I’ve taken with my small contracts!

You have until the closing date (in your original contract) to submit documents.

You would only need a SSN or ITIN if you purchased from a non-US citizen. If you did this MUST be disclosed to you at time of purchase.

And if so, please make sure you have the title company provide you proof that they paid FIRPTA to the IRS otherwise the IRS will be billing you for it (15% of purchase price).

Thanks for the help! It was not mentioned about an international seller, so I’m not sure if they are. The title company has not responded to me during the weekend, so holding pattern.

I’ll back out if I’m truly required to have an SSN and it wasn’t disclosed.

I couldn't agree more. I see a lot of traffic on getting "the best deal" for these. I get it. Everyone wants the lowest price they can get away with, but at what cost to everything else? It's not just the price per point. It's so many different variables. And everyone's calculus is different.

We took advantage of the Red Hot Deals (I think they change the name each month to keep it fresh) from DVCRM. Were they the absolute lowest prices? No. But they were a no haggle transaction. The seller is saying this is what I want and I don't have time to sit around and wait for the right offer. That worked better for us. So if I pay a few bucks more per point, so be it. I'll take the peace of mind to close the deal and be done with it. On to the rest of what really matters in life...serving my family

One of the sites show an SSR contract originally listed at $123 (9/1/23) is now pending they dropped the price multiple times, and it was last listed at $89.

The contract has 2023 points and full 2024 points.

Congrats! I looked Very seriously at that one too! Not a bad price for a 50 point you want (but I just paid $140 for a small BWV lol). Your time "looking and stressing" is worth a few extra $/point. As mentioned, the buy in is not the only part of the calculation!

Saw this pop up this week, with same UY as our existing Poly contract, and couldn't resist. Was listed at $158 but they took my first offer. Hopefully will go through quickly so I can either sell use the 2023 points

And I always consider if the seller is paying my closing costs, admin fee, etc so not everything is PPP

Agreed. We harp so much on saving a few dollars per point.. we're all bending over for pennies while spending dollars on dues
