Yes, hubby is on contract but was still able to vote -- was there at the opening to vote NO.My older 2 boys are both in college and it's so frustrating!
I do support the teachers but I can't help think how much I paid for both of them to go.
Hope it doesn't last too long
I'm an excellent nag.....ask my kids and my husbandI'll go nag some more after dinner.
Agreed. My dd is also in university in third year. It's astronomical what it costs these kids (and their parents) to go to these schools and it appears that the only people who actually suffer in this scenario are the students who are PAYING CUSTOMERS .The students are the only ones who don't have a voice at the bargaining table. Makes me so mad for them.So DD and I had a chat on Saturday about the strike and she tells me that there is talk of the Ontario universities also going on strike. She has no idea what the issues are but I will lose my mind if she gets ripped off this year.
You know I understand that people want fair working conditions etc however this is not at all right when you are paying tuition. This is not public school. I would really like to know how they can get away with screwing over the students.
You are exactly right. I can't think of any other scenario that a business fails to provide what the customer pays for and gets away with it.Agreed. My dd is also in university in third year.
